Yes, tentative deal has been agreed to.

"DETROIT – Ford Motor avoided having to face labor strikes on both sides of the U.S.-Canada border Tuesday night, as the automaker and Canadian union Unifor announced a tentative deal covering 5,600 autoworkers in the country’s Ontario providence.

The Detroit automaker and union announced the agreement — which must still be ratified by members — hours before an extended 11:59 p.m. Tuesday deadline. The sides extended the talks by 24 hours following Ford’s last-minute proposal Monday night to Unifor."

Ford is now pivoting towards the UAW in the US.

According to this UNIFOR has reached a deal with Ford. I don't think this will last beyond this week. I think the strike will end soon.

This is good news for those of us waiting for our cars to be built, and for Ford factory employees. Ford states they are for America and from the looks of things they are proving it.

That’s an interesting tactic. Don’t go after the major profit centers first, instead hit places that will affect consumers who already bought the product. The thought may be to put the manufacturers between upset dealers and customers on one side with them on the other, but it could just push customers to look for other products faster.

That tactic as a customer trying to get my car fixed would make me more likely to dislike the unions more than I already do and I'd be less inclined to sympathize with their cause less than I already do.

My mom worked for Ford as I was a kid growing up. Dealt with strikes during the holidays. Dealt with my mom crossing a picket line because she had a family to feed and having her windshield busted with a brick for doing it.

I have worked on union plants and dealt with them my entire adult life after getting out of the military including right up until today.

I have PLENTY of stories of dealing with unions in the Northeast region but we can save that for a whole 'mother topic for a whole 'mother day...
