The problem between Dark Horse and GT are the different people with different reasons, mostly trying to defend their own situation.

Person 1: Would have bought the Dark Horse if he had the budget for it, but couldn't affprd it, so he tries to find reasons to justify why he has a GT.

Person 2: Has a Dark Horse but doesn't know much about the differences between the GT, later he finds out there isn't that much of a difference and tries to find reasons to make the Dark Horse look like a new animal, while it's not that far away from a GT PP.

And then you have me. Here is my defence of my own situation 🤣. I Always dreamt of owning a GT. Didn't had enough money in 2015 to buy one. Made a lot of money 10 years later and chose the GT over the Dark Horse because I didn't like the rear and front bumper on the Dark Horse and I like my cars stock.

When the Dark Horse came out I really liked the emblems and the dark interior parts. Also the Dark Horse is more "limited" than the GT. But I couldn't justify paying 5k more to have a front and rear bumper I don't like, so I chose a GT PP with all the options on it, including the Recaro seats.

I still a bit sad about the fact I didn't get the Dark Horse because of the bumpers and wished they had some other type of bumpers or something not too far from the GT ones.

Well said. Though I would push back against the affordability part. I find that to be the most condescending and shallow comment any Dark Horse owner can make. "You're just jealous because your could only afford a GT". Lol, as if they own a $150k car. Not only does that person come off like a massive doushe, but the price tag difference of 5-10k just isnt enough to make a flex like that. Affording something and not spending unnecessarily are two different things.

I could have easily bought a DH if I wanted. But coming from a Mach 1, I realized that daily driving a track focused car I not going to track was kinda silly. Plus I wanted to go back to an automatic, and to me the Tremec is the only reason to own a DH. The GT checked every box for me. I too didn't care for the DH bumpers and preferred the looks of the GT.

A wise man one said - "no one will ever be as impressed by your car as you". Drive what you want. Its not about keeping up with people on the internet or car shows.

Most people I know have no idea of the difference between a GT and a DH and just ask if it has a V8. For me it was about satisfying my own desire to own one.

Can’t say as I’ve come across any condescending DH owners on this forum though, but I have only been here since January… No one to justify your purchase to except yourself (and maybe your better half 😜).

Here where I live they don't know what a GT or a Dark Horse is and ask me all the time if it's a Dark Horse and when I say it's a GT, they look unimpressed lol. They just know the name and that's it.
