Software updates - any confirmation after installation?

If the car is set for automatic updates, and one comes in, is there any notice or indication that the new version has downloaded and installed successfully?

You can look up software updates in the car and on your app and it should tell you.

But as far as a proactive notice that your car got updated, I don’t think so. Usually indications are presets are all messed up.

Sometimes at startup I get a screen noting a software update occurred. Like SE noted the app or infotainment screen will tell you.

This one is not going through on my car for some reason. The app shows "Software Update was Interrupted" I even manually tried to update it and it will not take.

If you get that message it means your battery charge is under 80%. I confirmed this with a call to Ford Pass. When I charged my battery it updated.

You got it, that is exactly what I was thinking. It's been garaged for about a week and I didn't hook it up to the tender cause it's still summer. Amazes me how many quirks this thing has that are simply a discharged or weak battery. I have avoided at least a dozen trips to the dealer by investing in a battery tender.

My update was interrupted several times. I called the help desk. They told me to do a 30 minute drive. After the drive I scheduled the update for 1 am . If it didn't update I would have to take in for service to do the update. It updated as scheduled. It's a garage queen so the battery could have been below 80%.

I'm glad that Ford keeps up with pushing out updates that keeps our cars smart lol but I wish that it could be done in a way so we don't have to keep putting our personal settings back into "My Color" lol

Mine kept the color this time ... but I lost everything else, including brightness settings.

usually all you preset things will change and you with have change back to your settings, such as your colors dashboard (speed and tach things like that)

The app for this car should seriously include a battery state of charge monitor.

I can remotely monitor the tire pressure, like that, good to know if I have a flat, though Washer Fluid Level? or Oil Life? Rather know what my battery state of charge. This car Does NOT like when the battery is below 100%.

Especially In the early production of MY24 many of the glitches were attributed to a weak or bad battery.

In a perfect world, we shouldn't have use a tender if the car sits for 3 days....but here we are, livin the dream in the electronic age.

A small inconvenience, literally 10 seconds to hook up a tender.

Does anyone know if your hood isn't closed you can still get updates. I close the hood but don't latch it when the tender is on the battery.

That’s a good question. Let’s assume it’s not a problem…lol.

I can now report that updates still happen even if the hood is unlatched. I got an update last night.
