FWIW, I'm getting front sensors fitted. They're switched with ign on and armed when the brake pedal is pressed lightly. $NZ450 fitted. I'm sure you have similar in the Mother Country.
They were supposed to be done yesterday but the silly bugger didn't realise they go on black trim and had them painted Grabber Blue.

I do wish that whoever makes the Steeda front camera kit for the S550 would make it work with Sync 4. Unfortunately, it is probably a victim of the security measures that keep the tuners out. One hope would be that Ford will offer it in 2026 with retrofit kits for 24-25 available..

1) Does the Lexus have this feature?
With the Remote Rev function, you can listen to the engine ramp up the RPMs with the click of a button. All you need is the key fob in your hand.

2) Has it been in production for 60 years?
3) Is it a two door sports coupe?
4)Does it have 6 speed MT?
5) Is it an American Icon made in Detroit by American workers?

Bottom line comparing Lexus to Mustang is silly since every car has unique features and attributes focused on different class of consumers needs and wants.

Another comparison between US Ford and VW Group.
Ford can make Tech work properly, wireless AA connects near instantly 99% of the time, never disconnects at the place our Skoda always does.
It'll also connect to my phone when the phone is in the house 12 - 15 metres away. Not seen that before.
You can change stop/start, lane assist and steering weight one after the other without having to wait for the system to confirm each change.
The instrument panel continuously shows you which exhaust mode/steering mode, etc, etc, you have without having to dig into a menu.
I am amazed at this stuff after being told so often that US cars are crap.

Really wish it had the same features as the 2SS. Honestly it would have been the perfect car if the had the 2SS tech and interior styling with the mustang body and engine.

I agree with what you are saying except for 2 and 5. Those don't make any sense.

Your car has a modem inside with a simcard/e-sim.

I can only speak to the S550. Haven't studied the following in the S650, but I imagine it's the same.

Bluetooth: yes. Primarily for door and trunk use with fob, personal devices, security. Some tech using this link is always on, some, via the dash, controlled by the operator. Good for about 30 ft / 10 m.

802.11 (wireless): yes. Controlled by the operator. Good for a few hundred feet or meters. Not used by Ford.

Satellite: yes. Receive only. For GPS, map references, etc. The antenna, on the roof near the rear window.

Cellular: yes. In the S550, at the back on each corner of the rear bumper section, there's a cell antenna. This is the link used by Ford to talk to the car. Always on. Can be physically disconnected. I've never studied for a fuse specific to cell service, but see Telematics, below.

Telematics: yes. There is a telematics module, inside the trunk. The TCU or Telematics Control Unit. This module is programmed with the car's VIN, and is directly connected to the cell modems. The TCU can be disconnected, or, a fuse can be pulled.

There's one addition module involved: the Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM). The module is one of the core pieces of the infotainment and connectivity systems and is directly behind the center console screen. This module is programmed with vehicle-specific information that needs to be set by Ford or someone with that capability. Similar to programming a new fob or Telematics unit.

As the discussion continues, study whatever vehicles you have and these systems. If eventually sold, there are processes the Diver can accomplish that will factory default the phone, map and contact information. For example, your passwords, phone numbers, wireless access points, etc. The factory detail, VIN and like bits, is not effected. Similar to wiping a personal computer or cell phone. See, "Factory defaulting Ford Sync System."

With all the electronics and wireless modems we as drivers and car owners have given up our privacy to the car manufacturers and they collect data such as

• speed
• steering, brake and accelerator pedal use
• seat belt use
• infotainment settings
• phone contacts
• navigation destinations
• voice data
• your location and surroundings
  
  The question on my mind is if we were to remove all the fuses that we think are the part of this crazy surveillance system would the car still work or not? My guess is that it would not unless we could re-program all the modules. Time to buy old cars from 1970s if we wish to have some privacy while driving. ;-)

It's nice feature, but It's nothing new to the car world. My 2013 car has this and it's already 12 years old.

wish there was something to fix, it’s not hardware because soft reboots fix it. The dealership said I had the most recent software so nothing they could do.

I read about doing a hard reset, but I really don’t want to redo all my settings.
