I had to double check to see if I accidentally ended up in the Lexus forums….

folding mirrors??? Really???

it’s a muscle car not a luxury car

What’s next…. No massaging seats??

Alright, but realistically. For the price, either it should have the tech, or it should be priced way lower. There is zero argument there

The European S650 Mustangs come standard with folding mirrors. Nothing new. Same with the S550.

I wish it had the eye sensor for self driving, and a front facing camera

Would gladly have added that on, heck I would have added every luxury feature possible

For all the bells and shiny door-to-glovebox digital screen(s), the new S650s are lacking a lot in terms of Creature Comfort Technology. Things that are missing:
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Digital Screen Rear View Mirror/regular mirror combo (the old-fashioned dimming lever is used to change between the two on my Tahoe)
  • 360° view capability
    • Native supported front facing camera
    • Native supported side cameras
    • Only one rear view camera (two are required for the Digital Screen Rear View Mirror mentioned above)
  • HUD options
  • Electronically foldable mirrors
  • Headlight Dim-on-stop (admittedly, this isn't common in the US at all, but in Japan it's everywhere (and should be mandatory on SUVs))
  • Wireless Connected Car
  • Active drive surroundings monitoring (I've only seen this in Teslas, but it's darn impressive! Not only that, it could have a very real use for racing, drifting, or at the dragstrip)
I get it that not everyone wants or needs any or every one of these - but it's a brand new premium GT and it has half the features of my now 5 year old Tahoe.
Rear vision camera (digital mirror) and HUD would be amazing to bring to Mustang. Probably packaging issues. Idk if Ford makes a HUD for any of their products. I do love it on my Camaro.

The GTO's, SS 396's, Hemi Cuda's, and other old muscle cars we so loved and would like to have today, had next to nothing for tech and amenities. They just did what they were designed to do and we still like and want them.

It just happened that today's cars must have a lot of technology just to meet government safety and emissions standards. That alone requires a lot of technology that I, personally, could do without, with exceptions.

I didn’t realize how much I used my front parking sensors/camera and 360 view in my f150 platinum until I got my mustang lol

I only want that gt350 rpm hud, don’t need the whole thing lol

The OP would have made a stronger point if the first item on his list was not a part of a basic option. The Co-pilot360 package has adaptive cruise control among other features. My regret is that it lacks the minor(?) features needed to make it self driving. I am not a big believer in self driving cars, but there are times that I would love to not be concentrating on a boring drive for five minutes.

As for other technology, it comes down to the tradeoffs involved. The more geegaws, the more that can break down and the more the driver gets dumbed down.

I would love for the Mustang to eliminate the mirrors and have 360 degree camera coverage. Especially when at intersections that have traffic coming at an acute angle. And it would not hurt to also have a form of radar that allows you to see oncoming vehicles where foliage or obstacles block your view. Other features desirability depends on individual needs. HUDs are not needed on long cruises, but other times, it may be a big help. Folding mirrors would be great for my F150, but my Mustang, not so much.

Those in bold are available or fitted to the Mustang

LOL... Some of you forget what a muscle car is supposed to be... though I ordered mine fully loaded, as I'm getting old and have been spoiled on the features as most of you have. Back in the day, we would order the muscle cars without AC and without radios. Anything to save weight was the way to go!
