I don’t know. I feel like we’ve been getting straight retro since 2005. Getting kind of played out. I’d like to see some forward motion.
2005 was retro for sure, but I think the S550 was forward motion. I'd like to see more forward for the 650 without being a fake exotic look.

When the Fox body Mustang was developed during the mid-1970s, it was an extreme departure from the previous editions. Ford built the 3rd gen Mustang around a platform it would share with other cars in the Lincoln-Mercury-Ford corporate family in order to keep development and construction costs down. Mustang purists were scoffed at its design while others welcomed it. After a few years, the design was deemed acceptable to the general public. By the late 90s, customers wanted that retro look back, so Ford created the "New Edge Fox" body and incorporated some of the styling cues of the original car. Overall, there are always going to be retro styling cues incorporated in the Mustang.

It's been so long, I can't recall where these originated from..........I don't think they were official Ford renderings......but I always liked the acute angle of the rear panel. Truth be told, I actually prefer the horizontal lamps as they remind me of the '68+ Shelby

Just wondering.....could this be a "Stampede" Special Edition package? I believe they did this back in 2006-ish?

I don't recall an S197 "Stampede".

If there are any special editions in the first year, I suspect it'll be a 60th Anniversary (although April 17th 2023 will be 59 years). However, Ford have made no mention of the anniversary so far, so perhaps I'm wrong.

I still have a hunch orders will open for S650 on April 17th though.....

Found an article on it. Was only for certain states I guess.

I believe those were done by a design student as a one off project. I agree with you, would love to see something like those sketches.

Given the rear camera would be centralized in the trunk lid, I'm assuming there'll be another badge to the right of the GT badge in the picture. If that GT badge was centralized, the camera would be between the G and the T.

If that makes sense :)
It appears that the camera is above the "GT" emblem.
