Curious to know what the narrowest & smallest wheel diameter size you're able to fit on a new GT Performance package.

Looking to throw on a set of winters on an S650, hoping to get some more meat on the tire if possible as well as go a little narrower to cut through the snow.

anyone running 245's or less on an aftermarket wheel?

I'm aware of this chart, but I was hoping to hear from some owners who drive these in the winter and their experience.

Well the PP wheels are 9" front and 9.5" rear. I don't think 245' would be a good idea on a 9" wheel.

I would find a set of GT Premium take off wheels. Those are 8.5" wide (square) and can be found online for cheap. Put 245 winter tires on those and just use them as your winter set up.

Yeah, I was 100% going to snag a second set of wheels for this.

I might just do that, thanks.

I doubt anyone sells steelies in these larger sizes, lol.

I am running 235 wide winter tires on my S550, though not a PP car (18x8)... you will need 19 inch for PP car. If I was driving the PP S650 car in the winter (which I don't), I would get a set of 19x9 square (eco PP takeoffs) and run 255/40-19 winter tires.

Yeah, I was debating whether or not to run a square setup, but its definitely something to consider.

Thanks for this. I was looking for winter wheels and tires and was struggling with sizes.

Just so know, the GT premium wheels I mentioned are 8.5" square and come with all season Contis. I doubt those would get it done in the snow, but a complete set of take off wheel/tires can be found for less than $1000 on ebay.

I've driven extensively on 275's in the snow on a RWD platform, and while it was able to handle just about all the conditions that were thrown at it, I could tell that the width was causing a little more gliding than I preferred, especially once that foot of snow eventually turned into slush.

So thats sort of the backdrop to this thread, lmao. I don't want to deal with skipping across the surface of the snow with this car, hahah. Never got stuck or had a problem, but a tad more control would always be preferred, especially in the slush.

The narrower the better in my eyes.

I got some good insight here, thanks fellas!

Those would likely work, as long as they clear the big brakes...

I have a second set of wheels and snow tires for my performance package GT here in SE Michigan. That set means that I run a 255-40x19 set up on all four corners. Seems to work fine for me this past winter of 2023 and 2024 (used the same wheel and tire set up on my 2019 EcoBoost). The speedometer is off by 1 MPH at 70 MPH, and over the course of about 10 miles the mileage is off by about a mile due to the difference between the 255 and 275 on the rear.
