Rev Matching. Yes or no?

For those with manual transmission, do you use Rev Matching or not in everyday driving, not tracking?

Why would you double declutch on a synchro 'box?

If you've got it, use it. My dad taught me how to rev match starting on dirt bikes. I've been doing it all my life, long before cars did it for you automatically. It's second nature for me.

Does this indicate no-lift-shift does not require rev-match to be activate?

I have it turned on but sometimes forget it is on and rev match when I change down, getting double rev goodness

Nope. If I want the car to automatically rev match for me, why not buy one that automatically shift gears for me too? I bought a manual for that very reason… because it’s manual. Including rev matching. For me, rev matching is part of the the unending quest for the perfect downshift. So much joy when I nail it. Why would I want to deprive myself of that?

When I was test driving it the first time in 2024 before I bought it, I didn’t know what it was and I was like wow, this is amazing.

Why would you double declutch on a synchro 'box?

It matches engine speed. I turned off Rev Matching because I don't always select the next gear in the sequence of down shifting. I might want to decide what gear I want for the situation.

80/20 its on. First manual i've had with RevMatch of many manuals. it does add some protection for a missed hard downshift with the panic rev if you get close to wrong one. With passengers that arent car people Ill shut it off so not so spicy haha. I like both though
