Jesus, you guys.. yeah, I will refuel at a different station when I find one that has high octane fuel. This has nothing to do with "older people" in this case: I am an engineer and design high tech stuff.

I'll be back when a different gas station does the same as Petro Canada (Canada's largest chain by the way). As I have no doubt it will. Then you guys can start helping instead of victim blaming, k? :-)
- 50 years of experience
- Refueling boats, cars, bikes, airplanes, space shuttles.
- Engineer degree

And says that other gas stations will do exactly the same as the gas station he always use, without having tested the other gas stations.

I already know what you will do if other gas stations will fix your issue.

1. You will lie and say that the issue is on every gas station.
2. You will dissapear.

Why? Because you have 450 years of experience refueling biker mice from mars as an engineer, so you can't be wrong.

"Victim Blaming!" LOL Now I get it.

FWIW, engineers are supposed to have problem solving skills. And you have demonstrated that you haven't done that with this issue. Simple fact is that "User error" is the most common occurrence with the information you have provided us. Just the fact that you feel the need to insert the nozzle in at a certain way/depth is the tell all in itself IMO. Overthinking a simple task. Finding problems that don't exist. If you're tank wasn't installed correctly that is a warranty issue. Not an inherent problem in the design.

And yeah, when it comes time for me to trade out this car, I don't want the next buyer to think there's inherent problems with filling gas into these cars.

Well, of course I have tried all manner of insertions and orientations. I find it odd that when someone who clearly knows how to refill vehicles has double with just one vehicle, you guys automatically assume it can't possibly be the car.

Whether it is just this car or all Mustangs I don't know yet - I suspect just this one. But clearly if there are at least six pumps that can fill all other cars I have had in the last years and not this one, there's an issue somewhere.

Well after your research on whether this is all mustangs or just yours....please keep us posted.

BTW, I'm shocked that my post was deleted by the admins. --I think it was spot on. Sometimes a dose of reality is needed.

As I said, If your car is stock and not tuned, lower octane gas for one fillup should not cause any issue... and to the others constantly blaming the pump or the OP, I have actually had the problem of a pinched fuel filler hose in a previous car... it WILL cause the problems described... So, finding out if the issue is with the car would be priority 1 for me...

We'll never know because the OP refuses to get past step one in the process of elimination.

Step 1 - go to another station and eliminate the pump as a problem. A couple gallons of lower octane fuel will have zero effect on a stock car. This isn't rocket science! 🤷🏻

"I always did it this way and it was always the right way" mentality.

Once I worked in a company with a lot of older people, respectfully and I noticed that this was a common thing over there.

Them: "We always do it this way and it always worked".

Me: Well, now it doesn't work, so maybe you should try this

Them: "I have more years of experience than you and this is the right way".

Do you want to solve or figure out what causes the problem or not? Jeez!

Did solving that problem that others could not result in your early retirement and travel?

Lol, indirectly yes. Think out of the box and follow your goal. If you can't, you're stuck.
