What if ‘wire tied’ to the stud not using the plastic retainer?

As in consumer notice and secure from further movement but necessarily reattach the not attached connection.

I suspect they would cut and discard the tie and proceed as spelled out in the recall...if they are smart. They have liability to consider. They aren't going to make a judgement call about some alternative solution. They have no incentive to and shouldn't.

So you would not recommend attaching if found detached and call it a day as long as nothing actively leaking?

That sounds reasonable, but I think they're replacing entire fluid lines because the plastic piece in question is manufactured with the hose. Also, they replace the hose in case there was any heat injury to the hose then you'll get a brand new one and not rely on the tech's assessment that may miss degradation to the hose/result in a problem in the future. It makes the repair standardized across the company and takes out any guess work. That, I believe, is why they replace the entire hose.

If mine was loose (it isn't), sure but I'd still take it in. Actually, I have them come to me. My dealer does that.

Took mine in this morning for the recall, took about an hour. Service writer that handles the recalls said everything was fine and closed out the ticket as complete.

No, they also took a look at my mufflers because one was a bit louder than the other in normal exhaust mode. And they took me for a $225 full synthetic oil change.

That's pushing it even by dealer standards. $90 in oil & filter (discount retail) that they can buy for $70 or so. I'll lay on my back for 45 minutes for $135 (I know....that's what she said!!)

Just had my mustang in this morning for the recall and an oil change. They had it for roughly an hour and I was back on the road. Mine was not affected.
