Overall, I’d say it’s slightly bumpier, but nothing to worry about. Honestly, my main goal with the lowering springs were for aesthetics followed by the performance of the springs. I don’t have many twisty/curvy roads where I live so I haven’t had a chance to really test it out.
I did not retune...
I am absolutely no photographer so I do not believe I captured the best angles or had the best lighting. Below is a list of modifications done to the car so far.
- Steeda sport Magneride lowering springs
- Steeda stop the hop starter kit
- Steeda front and rear sway bars
- Velgen VF5 in brushed...
I'm not supercharged, but I am running Velgen VF5 with 275/35/20 and 305/35/20 with Steeda Progressive magnaride springs. I have not put a ton of miles on with this combo as I just finished the install, but I have not noticed any rubbing on the fenders (knock on wood).
I had the exact same question as you based on the instructions stating the springs were labeled. I just did this install a couple of weekends ago on my magnaride mustang and you can't mess it up. As you stated, the coils are in different directions and can only be placed on the car one way. The...
I did install Steeda camber plates and told them that when I had the alignment performed.
In the rear, I installed Steeda stop the hop starter kit while I had everything apart. I also installed Steeda front and rear sway bars.
I just lowered my Magneride Mustang with Steeda sport progressive Magneride springs. You just have to make sure whatever brand lowering springs you purchase is the Magneride specific spring. Other than that, there’s nothing special and doesn’t require anything to be recalibrated.
Front spring didn’t seem sketchy with this method? You hear so many conflicting stories. People either don’t sweat doing this or absolutely won’t do it.
What style/brand spring compressor did you purchase? I have the springs in my basement and it is getting warm enough that I want to install them soon. I am back and forth on buying my own spring compressor versus having a shop swap the springs.
Is the part below the one you tried installing on a GT? Do you have a performance package GT?
If this was the part you tried installing? How does it mount to the existing stock splitter? (I know you said it didn't fit, I'm curious how it mounts though)...

Nano skin fine grade should fit the bill for the vehicles you’ve described. You can buy their specific clay lube and dilute it or use something like optimum no rinse (ONR)
Is your car parked outside 24/7? I just had rodent damage to the wiring harness of my 2024 F150 causing almost $800 in damage. The F150 lives outside and the Mustang in the garage. Hopefully it’s a non-issue in the garage.
Did your quotes include the cost of the lowering springs or with you providing?
I only got one quote so far and it was $1,500 for the install and alignment. They never clarified if that was with me providing the parts, but I assume it is.
I want to lower my car and will be purchasing lower springs and camber plates. I am on the fence of tackling this installation myself or paying a shop to do the install. I will also be adding Steeda's subframe alignment and support kit while installing the rear springs. What price range are you...
