Red Brembo Caliper rock chip!!!!!!

I noticed a small paint chip—about 2mm in size—on the inside of one of my red Brembo calipers. No idea how a rock managed to hit that spot, but it’s there. Is there a specific paint code for the red Brembo calipers? Or does anyone know of a company that sells an exact color match for touch-up? I’d like to fix it properly.

Rocks also get stuck between the pad and the rotor. Nothing is safe.

@kinelisch and @RLE55 ..... I have used scratches happen to buy touch-up paint for the rim of my 2024GT. I got a great kit from them. I bought my own painter's brushes from an art supply store (not expensive) to have a longer handle - you wouldn't have to pull the rim to do the touch-up and you could select softer bristles. That said I would inquire for specific CALIPER paint as there is a lot of heat generated.

The red on the Mustang calipers is not the same as traditional "Brembo red". The best I have found and a very close match is the Ford Race Red touchup paint.

I have a race red Mustang with the red calipers. I’ve had a few chips in my calipers and use the race red paint code and purchase touch up paint from Dr. colorchip.

My friend bought a 2014 Mustang from me years ago. We used Dupli Color CALIPER paint from Amazon. It has been years and the paint has stayed on and held its color. Friends have used non-caliper designated paint and it has bubbled and sloughed-off. Whatever product you use I respectfully suggest - for long term adhesion - you use dedicated caliper paint. I have painted more than 20 sets of calipers over the years and had a lot of early fails. Do it right or re-do it (just ask me) LOL. Attached, a picture of friend's Mustang many years after we painted his calipers.....still bright red, still no bubbles, chipping or fading. He washes them once in a while with warm soapy water. BTW .... ANY aftermarket caliper paint will dissolve if brake fluid gets on them. When my friend had a brake job done he had the tech cover the calipers with plastic grocery-type bags. Worked perfectly. Good luck and remember you can do it fast, cheap or right - pick one!

Yes, on the brake fluid and paint. I have bled many motorcycle systems and DOT4 doesn't like paint AT ALL.

Good luck on painting the calipers. That was a bummer.
