The mirror attachment has two articulation points at either end of a rod. If the screen end is angled up too much the mirror cannot be angled up enough for tall people to see out of the rear window because the mirror hits the plastic housing above it. A lot of people don't seem to realise that if you angle the screen end articulation downwards it enables you to angle the mirror up more to improve visibility. So for taller people the rod wants to be angled down to allow the mirror to be angled up more. The mirror doesn't become any lower just the angle is changed

I see what you saying now. The issue is that regardless of how its articulated, the back of the housing still restricts SOME of the movement. This can be problematic depending on how your seat is adjusted. While I personally dont have an issue, I can see how someone might.

Its also worth noting that the articulation point on the windshield end of the rod is so INSANELY tight that many people may not be aware that it actually moves. Not to mention that doing so may actually break the f**king thing.

You do know the mirror is not directly attached to the windscreen do you?
Yes
It has nothing to do with body shape or seat position - the mirror adjustment can cover all positions if you adjust both ends.
My experience, and several others' in this thread, disagrees with your position.
Some joke when a 'pro-tip' involves a dremel!
The Dremel idea was a different paragraph in the post, and therefore not part of the pro tip joke.

Well that and the seat adjustment. If you like to sit more upright the mirror can only tilt up so far. Some people like to drive in really weird positions. I remember a guy on the 6G forum complaining about the head rests and having to turn them backwards to drive comfortably. Then he posted a picture and he had his seat back at practically 90⁰s. 🤦🏻
Maybe he was an auto mechanic. It seems like every time I pick up a car after having some work done, the seat is reclined way back.

It's quite worrying that some people don't use their interior RVM.
I wish they were around when I was doing pursuit speed checks.
