I see what you saying now. The issue is that regardless of how its articulated, the back of the housing still restricts SOME of the movement. This can be problematic depending on how your seat is adjusted. While I personally dont have an issue, I can see how someone might.The mirror attachment has two articulation points at either end of a rod. If the screen end is angled up too much the mirror cannot be angled up enough for tall people to see out of the rear window because the mirror hits the plastic housing above it. A lot of people don't seem to realise that if you angle the screen end articulation downwards it enables you to angle the mirror up more to improve visibility. So for taller people the rod wants to be angled down to allow the mirror to be angled up more. The mirror doesn't become any lower just the angle is changed

Its also worth noting that the articulation point on the windshield end of the rod is so INSANELY tight that many people may not be aware that it actually moves. Not to mention that doing so may actually break the f**king thing.
