So, as a result of being too lazy to move my butt and get out of the car, I clipped my passenger mirror with the garbage can while reversing into the garage today, and lifted it slightly out of place. I have pushed it back down to it's original position, but it feels slightly less secure now... like I have loosened it somehow. I'm worried about the waterproof-ness of the seal with the door.

Anyone know if this is an easy fix?

Thanks for any help!

You talking about the painted mirror skull cap? That happened to me at a spray car wash. It just flew off from the pressure and landed in the grass 10 feet away. Looks like the tabs were either broken before or broke after and I had to put some RTV on the inside of it and snap it back in place. From that point it was stronger than the other side. If this is what youre referring to. Dealer wanted to order a new unpainted piece and "send it to the body shop". I was like yeah no.

Actually no, I'm referring to the arm that attaches to the door... it has a little more up-and-down play in it now.

Sorry this happened. I'm still getting used to the lines on the back up camera when parallel parking. You've got to remember your mirrors though. If its loose, I'd probably take it to a body shop. Chalk it up as a "note to self" don't do this next time.
