Rear Recaro Seats – Does This Look Normal?

I went to the dealer this morning to have them look at some annoying noises coming from the rear suspension.

When I got the car back, I noticed something that seems odd. It looks like both rear seatbacks are coming apart at the seams / partially unstitched.

I honestly don’t remember them looking like this before, but maybe I’m imagining things.

Could anyone with a Dark Horse equipped with the Recaro seats check their rear seats and let me know if yours look the same?

My GT has it and it’s normal, it’s where you would latch a car seat to. If you put your finger in it you will feel the latch point.

Yup... that's exactly it.

I just checked and felt the latch point.

Well, this is embarrassing. I was about 5 minutes away from going back to the dealer asking who destroyed my rear seats.

Turns out Ford didn't damage anything — I'm just discovering features of my own car one panic attack at a time.

I will never miss the days of hooking up car seats to the latch points. My kids are just about big enough to no longer need the booster seats, but at least those don’t use the latches.

Totally normal and required by law. My GTI had the best latches, my wife’s CR-V the worst. Any modern car with a back seat has latch points.

Curious, is there a difference between the front recaros on a GT vs DH? Do the rear seats get special attributes if the front seats are recaros on the GT or DH?

Aside from no heating/ventilation and memory, is there any difference?

No back seats. But that looks like where the car seat hook-up is located, as others have said.
