I'm looking for information about MagneRide cars with lowering springs. Most offerings I've seen have said that the rear bump stops need to be trimmed yet the only real information about how to do so is a Youtube video from Steeda where both methods they give for doing so seem pretty crude.

Help me out if you have a MagneRide car with lowering springs. What springs are you using, did you trim your bump stops and if so, how did you do it?

Whichever springs you choose, trimming the magneride rear bump stops is much easier and less destructive than Steeda's 2 techniques displayed in that video. The assembled bump stop and guard assembly can be pulled down the shock shaft from the mount, then the dust guard can be stretched down over the bump stops without having to cut the boot or disassemble anything.

I installed Steeda Magneride sport springs on my car. I saw this video after I completed the install and I agree with GhastlyTT. Steeda's method is more destructive than necessary. I pulled the dust guard down to expose the bump stop and trimmed the bump stop with a razor knife. It was certainly annoying having to do it this way and getting the dust shield back over the bump stop was a little aggravating.
