Also they were packed like the ones shown by @AZ_Ryan. The cardboard was only on the top of the rim and did have a tear on top so Idk where the damage occurred but I guess its possible it happened during shipping.
So it likely did happen in Shipping then. They should have their stuff covered through FedEx. I dont get why they aren't more willing to work with you. But it sounds like there is too much bad blood to make it right now. Go get a real repair quote and see if they'll pay for it.

Yeah I'm not sure what to do from this point going forward. I tried to get them to cover the repair from a local shop and they refused. I even sent them screenshots today from the mobile wheel repair guy they sent me. I asked them to cover return shipping and they woudn't answer. They just kept repeating they would take $100 off and thats all they could do. At this point Im ready to just send them back and I guess I'll have to eat the shipping cost. Thats not right but I guess I've learned my lesson about doing business with them.

Ok, just take a breath for a minute. Are you really going to eat $600 over that ding? I get your mad, but thats just silly man. At that point, just keep the damaged one as a spare and buy a 5th somewhere else.

I just looked at their feedback and it's 100% positive with like 12k reviews. I can personally say my wheels were flawless. So it's not like they are out there screwing people on ebay.

It sounds like the damage happened in shipping, which isn't their fault. They are take-off wheels and they don't have another one to replace it with. Again, I'm sorry this happened to you, and I'd be pissed too. But its sounds like you are getting ready to cut off your note to spite your face. $100 bucks isn't nothing.

Have you gotten an actual repair quote yet? What are these screen shots your referring to? Is there a real dollar amount or is this just speculative cost your asking them cover?

The wheels I ordered from them cost 325 to ship from NV to GA. My worry since this whole thing started was that I would have to eat the shipping cost both ways which is why I was trying to get them to pay for the repairs.

They sent me a name of a local company who I contacted to see if they could do the repair. The owner and I texted and after he looked at the photos he said he coudnt guarantee he would be able to match the color of the wheels as he said its a powdercoat color and he coudnt match it. He did say that their quote was too low and at the least it would be 150 to 200, and thats if I could find someone to fix it. I sent a screenshot of that conversation to Shelby and they ignored it.

I reached out to a couple of other local companies today to get a quote but so far no one has gotten back to me, or said I would need to send them out to get re-powdercoated.

I just looked at their feedback and it's 100% positive with like 12k reviews. I can personally say my wheels were flawless. So it's not like they are out there screwing people on ebay.
It seems like that but now I know why. I posted negative feedback stating all that I said in the posts above, and they had Ebay remove it. I filed an appeal and the Ebay rep. I spoke to even agreed and said they shoudn't have done it. They are a big seller though so I guess we'll see if Ebay makes it right.

I will admit this process is really frustrating. I don't want any extra money, or discounts. My preference all along has been to just get the wheels repaired if Shelby would cover it. Thats the issue though, is they won't. They keep saying they offered 100 dollars off and thats all they can do.

Also it seems all the local shops are unwilling or unable to repair powdercoated wheels. So maybe getting them repaired wouldnt have been as easy or practical of an option as I first thought.

All that and dealing with their lack of customer service, or heck, even basic courtesy has left me frustrated for sure.

A powder coater can match that and charge what, $150.00?

Never file a complaint with ebay, unless you're purposely trying to piss off the seller into not wanting to make it right 😂.

I checked around local powdercoating places and it seems like I'm looking at approx 200 dollars a wheel for just the coating. That wouldnt include the cost to actually repair any damage or dismount and mount the TPMS sensors and tires plus balancing. I don't have an exact quote but am waiting on some specific quotes from two local places.

The quote (150-200) from above was from the local wheel repair company and was based on a touch up and respray which he coudnt do. Thats why he said if you can find someone to do it.

I feel your pain, my wheels were a custom finish and got a chunk taken out of one of them (long, sad story 😂) Powder coater could not duplicate the color and ended up having to refinish all 4.

I think with yours just being a matte color, it should be able to be matched easily. Play it a little cooler with Shelby, and hopefully they'll come around and give you a credit for the amount you're going to be charged.

I wish you luck

Thing is, ebay will force the seller to make it right... sure it will piss them off... I sold some used parts on ebay, lots of pics showing they were used and of course not clean, put in the ad "used, as is, see pics" and the buyer didn't like that they we're dirty/greasy and wanted credit for cleaning or money back. I told him they were used and no refunds... he contacted ebay, they withdrew his money from my account immediately, even though he didn't return the parts. I had to go through a hassle with ebay to get my money since I never received the parts back... I did get the money, but so did the other guy, and he kept the parts! How f'd up is that?! I haven't sold anything on ebay since.

*edit* not saying this is necessarily the thing to do... I would try with the shipping company first if the item pics clearly show no damage. ebay may be able to help in that regard too, though I am not sure.

^ this.

I believe negative reviews on Ebay can be removed if an active dispute has not been settled. And as mentioned, leaving a negative review while trying to resolve a dispute with a seller certainly doesn't motivate them. So maybe put that on the back burner for now.

I say let the process playout with ebay and see what's happens. I also, agree that color matching those wheels color shouldn't be that difficult. It may not be exact, but I doubt it would be off enough for you or anyone to notice.

Good luck and let us know how it works out. I feel your frustration.
