Wanted some advice. I swapped out wheels as soon as I got my car. Shortly thereafter I noticed that one of the tire sensors was not being read.
was going to take it back and it started working again.
It randomly errors and says it’s not working only to go back to normal.

Im sure the sensor was damaged when they swapped them from the stock rims. Is there a way to know exactly what type of sensor is used so I can buy a replacement and have them replace it?

May even be a failing battery. My son has an Avalon that he got from grandpa that was doing the same thing shortly after a tire swap. Turns out grandpa was just cheap and didn't replace the TPMS sensors, so one by one all of the sensors have started to do that. It was a coincidence that it happened after tire change.

I brought my GT in for the BCM recall and left with a failed TPMS sensor. Young tech tried 3 times to reprogram it, telling me it was a new car and shouldn't have failed. I agreed, but sometimes shit happens and it was actually just a bad sensor. It's possible the wheel swap was a coincidence and it just crapped out on its own.
