Hi everyone,

There is no WiFi option when I go to connectivity in my car..
So I can’t receive an over the air update although the car was made early 2024 and it still on how it came from factory.
My question is, is the wifi a software thing that can be calibrated or is it a hardware thing must be added? Or neither

(GCC car)
Best wishes.

@subarashi-650 you are not the only one. No one with a GCC vehicle gets OTA. The only way to get critical updates is maybe ask the dealership if they can.

Your TCU is not working in your region.

No ota updates on gcc cars

My dealer updated my car last week because i had a problem with the screen sometimes it's not responding or will shut off completely they won't update your car unless there is a problem or you can do manual update by yourself by buying some expensive cable and subscription from ford or there are dome programers here who will do it for you for some cash

Gulf Cooperation Council. The car has to conform to regulatory requirements of the GCC to be purchased in the nations around the Persian Gulf.

OTA updates don't use wifi... so no worries!
This is correct.

For the F150, I've only known of a single OTA update in the past ~4 years that was delivered via Wifi -- and that was to fix something that was inhibiting the TCU/GWM (telematics control unit / gateway module) from being able to receive OTA updates.

This is my video that I showed the dealer which made them update my car last week

If your car have 1 large screen use the video as if there is problem with yours they might update it for you

Couldn't attach the videos because of the size you can download them from the link

You can use the "Hotspot" to connect your phone to wi-fi... It requires a paid service subscription. May not be available outside US or NA... or with certain trim levels.

I have no clue how that works or what it does. So what's the purpose of doing that?

And who is the hotspot for who?
The car sharing internet with your phone or your phone sharing the internet with your car?

I don't think I have this. The only thing my car does it connect my phone through wifi for Android Auto.
