I had the speed limiter set on even lower speed. You can set the speed limiter manually on a specific speed. I think mine was on 15mph.
Mmm. But the setting was on "Warn only", so even if I had accidentally set it to a low speed, it should not have stopped throttle response - do I have that right?

I think there have been a rash of faulty gas pedal assemblies. I had two DH owners I worked with have this as a problem and the dealer replaced the gas pedal.

Shiiiii.. That could totally be it.
True. Except I checked and the option was set to "Warning only", so even if I had accidentally set it to 35 km/h AND accidentally pressed the button, it still should not have stopped the throttle from doing anything - right? I await what Ford says...!

You are talking about a different setting. (Speed warning).

I'm talking about a speed limiter. Not a warning option. The button is on your steering wheel, left side.

Yup, I know that button - and avoid it like the plague, haha!

The dealer called - they did find a "low voltage" alarm, which is weird because it's a new car with 1,000 km on it, and I've been driving distances with it, and it wasn't't left outside with lights on - nothing like that. So they're keeping it overnight for more testing.

Ah but the manual says that even if I did set and active the speed listed, you can exceed the limit if needed. And I was unable to exceed the limit: even pushing down totally on the gas pedal, speed remained limited to just over 30 km/h.

From the manual (boldfaced emphasis mine):

-----
HOW DOES THE SPEED LIMITER WORK

The system allows you to set a speed to which your vehicle becomes limited. The set speed sets the effective maximum speed of your vehicle. You can temporarily exceed the set speed if required, for example to overtake.
The controls are on the steering wheel.

If you have it again, try it. That's the only way to figure out what it is.

Dealer is keeping it overnight to do more testing and test runs, so we'll see tomorrow. They did see a low voltage warning, so indeed there may be something going on.

And yesh, manual says this, and believe me, I certainly "pressed firmly on the accelarator"!!

INTENTIONALLY EXCEEDING THE SET SPEED LIMIT

Firmly press the accelerator to temporarily turn the system off. The system reactivates once your vehicle speed drops below the set speed.

2024 GT Premium 10sp. I had the same thing happen twice in the first 500mi. I turn the car off and back on again and back to normal. The first time was around the corner from my house. No danger. The second time was a busy main drag and I was lucky to get it off the road without an accident. I took it to the dealer and the computer said it never went into limp mode so they didn't know what to do. Now with 14k miles it never did it again. After twice I was reluctant to take it on the expressway. Now it is OK.

...and that is what I am scared of. The nightmare scenario is that this happens when I am joining a freeway - or when I am *on* the freeway. I do not want to drive it if they don't find what it is, so, fingers crossed.

I almost guarantee that it's that you accidentally pressed the speed limiter button on the left side of your steering wheel on the right. It limits your speed to a specific speed that you were going when you press the button. It is so easy to hit when turning the wheel all the way....has happened to me numerous times......easily fixed...just the button again to clear it....

I know what the problem is.

You pressed the speed limiter button on the left side of your steering wheel. It limits your speed to a specific speed.
I doubt it. IME, the speed limiter will disable itself if you use excessive throttle inputs. I've tried.

I'd guess something silently failed and the car went into limp mode, as others have suggested.

Yep, but you need to press it very firmly.
When I first got the car I had the same issue. I also thought I pressed it firmly at first.
