New dark horse vs used 2020 gt500

Gt500 prices are starting to come down in the mid 70s which is nice. I've seen new gt500 for 85k. With the dark horse going to be in the 69-72ish which would you get?

I don’t think anyone getting a dark horse is looking at performance value. It’s just not there (assuming handling pack pricing pushes high 60s). Comes down to personal preference. IMO GT500 looks better, but I don’t care for an automatic.

I'm firmly in the 2020 GT500 for $65k camp.

My brother has one, I've drive it plenty, his previous was a gt350R... total turd.

Anyway there is NO comparison...headers, injectors and a pulley, THE MFr makes around 900 wheel.

Slap a whipple 3.8 and Id1700s... make 11-1200 wheel reliably.

And LOL at anyone calling it an auto...the second you go to drive it you'll realize it's not... it like calling my RMVB C4 an auto... it isn't.

Yeah the gt500 for 65k or a new one for 75k would be awesome.

As much as I like the DH I think you are right about value, it's just not there at that price point. If it can be had with handling pack for 60k would be nice.

I set my search for the whole country. Found 3 around 75 and lots in the low 80s.

The 65k is not out there yet but will be as the car market continues to decline.

As much as I like rowing gears I also like to get the most car for the money I'm willing to spend. All my cats have been manual, this next purchase my be the first that isn't.

Seems like the gt500 will be the choice if you plan on doing a lot of racing. Dark Horse appears to be more balanced, and focused on the experience with the manual and everything. In other words, do you want the best lap time or the most engaging experience? That will be the deciding factor.

I think it’s rather „do you want the most bad ass car you can get for 70K and retain a lot of value” or “do you want an overpriced Mach 1 with some upgrades and new interior?”

Maybe we here in Europe have a different perspective as a new GT500 costs us north of ~120000€ ~130000$ at least in Germany …
