I have noticed a spot in my garage since I bought the car but didn't think a whole lot of it being the car sounds normal. I just figured I had a loose exhaust clamp or something I would get around too eventually. Well I crawled under the car to put in a resonator delete and some other stuff and noticed a hole in the resonator. I have never bottomed the car out and I'm the only person to drive it since taking delivery. Nothing else under the car is damaged. This happened at the plant, in transit or at the dealership before I took delivery. I don't care a whole lot being I'm changing it out this weekend anyways. Any speculation about how this would have happened? I'm guessing when it was loaded onto or off of the semi truck. Might want to ask your dealership to put the car on a lift before taking delivery so you can check out the underside.

That’ll leave a mark.

Interesting. It's a very clean cut or impact, almost right in the center. Almost seems intentional.

Are we looking at the end facing the engine, or the back, towards the trunk? If the former, I'd think some type of road debris. The latter, someone backing over something, maybe during shipping. Alternatively, at the factory, maybe a tool slipped during production.

Edit,

And yes, attempted theft is a possibility. Maybe they were attempting and realized what a PITA that is, given the ground clearance and all.

Looks like it hit something 💯, like a table saw blade, perhaps an idiot thought they were gonna steal your cats ?
On the day I took receipt, a couple were picking up a brand new F150. Cats? Gone. Cut out the night before. At the dealer.

New vehicles are prized. The internal metals are not spent as much as a used unit and are worth more. Tundras are #1 on the hit list; they have multiple, large cats and easy access.

No, a saw would not have rolled all the material towards one end - it would just be gone.

Someone definitely hit/ran over something.

It's on the engine side of the resonator. Probably wouldn't have been attempted theft as I only park at gas stations for about 5 minutes to fuel up and get a drink. It did sit at the plant for a couple weeks waiting for Ford to give the OK to buy where someone could have messed with it. Other than that, it sits in my garage if I'm not actively driving it. I have a different car I take to work and run errands in.

have you heard these cars with a resonator delete? sure you want to cut up a brand new car? seems a little ricer to me, these cars sound so good stock.

Looks like it might have happened when unloading off the carrier

that's true. I thought he meant just a resonator delete

I love the sound of the stock exhaust especially in track mode. I get compliments and solid excitement all the way to joyous laughter from people when someone asks me to rev it. I think it is one of the best sounding factory exhaust systems there is when equipped with active exhaust. I'm putting in a Roush H-Pipe right now hoping for similar sound but maybe just a little louder or a little deeper and headers a little later just for the power. I will say I was having my doubts laying on the concrete operating the reciprocating saw about 6 inches away from my face with hot metal shavings flying everywhere. It was pretty exciting in a bad way. I'm going to go undo the exhaust clamps now, take out the resonator and shake it to see if any "evidence" falls out 🤣
