Sculpture is stupid. Either represent it as accurately as possible based on the info available, or forget about it.

Why is no one mentioning the missing rear wheels? I think it's great that Ford is introducing the world's 1st mass-market hovercar, but the Mustang needs to be RWD, damn it!
Maybe they are hiding a 70s fastback style. I would love that!

Its too early to like/dislike. I love new things and living in these times. Imagine arguing 150 years ago when the newest stage coach teaser came out and families were divided like Hatfields and McCoys. Shoot out at high noon!
It won't look much like the sculpture.

Bearing in mind the Fusion was supposedly based on a Aston Martin design (as Ford owned AM up to 2007 although retained a stake), having a car based on this is no bad thing!

Eh. Looks way to similar to the S550 for me. Was hoping for a much bigger change. SN95 to S197 (2004 -> 2005) was a huge change. So was S197 to S550 (2014 - 2015)

If it looks good, then an evolution (rather than revolution) is fine. Just look at Porsche with the 911, they have no problem selling.

Oh please, not that bs again. It's just a basic coupe form!

Guess they all copied the 2012 BMW 6 series (the 8 series is the successor of it)?

Oh wait, they all must have copied the 2004 AM DB9!?

It's just how 2 door coupes look like. The Mustang did not invent this design. In fact the S550 was heavily inspired by the 2011 DB9
Technically they did copy the mustang. I think the early mustangs were the first to have this style of body though I could be mistaken but the mustang is definetly the one responsible for making it popular.

Fastback design was taken from European "boattail" styling that went all the way back to the 1930s and 40s. The first generation Mustang was the happy recipient of this design trend in the 1960s, but the fastback was something that was done on European and American cars before then.

It's interesting history to review. It's also great this style appears in this upcoming Mustang generation.

How can they copy the 15 Mustang, if their own predecessor of the same model has this styling....
65 Mustang Fastback did not invent the fastback look. Even in 1960 there were cars like Aston Martin DB4 or Volvo P1800 that already had the fastback look.

Mustang did invent the Pony car, which was a great addition and a huge success that lead to a lot of other cool cars like Camaro and Challenger. You can't take that from the Mustang. But please don't act like the Mustang invented everything and every modern coupe is copying the S550...

Hell, even at that, Ford didn’t “invent” the pony car. Ford wanted a sporty compact car with styling taken from European grand tourers since we didn’t really have them in the US, and that’s what gave us the Mustang. It was always intended to be a European-styled Grand tourer, but the press didn’t really know what it was since this style of vehicle wasn’t common in the states, so they just started calling it “pony car”

Long story short, it’s gone full circle, because now the current Mustang uses European styling cues (very obviously inspired by Aston). That’s not to say that BMW and Bentley didn’t take styling cues from the S550 though. I certainly believe they did... I mean, why wouldn’t they? It’s a staple of beautiful automotive design (just like the Aston it was based off of) and is selling in droves all around the world. I personally believe S550 will go down as one of the greatest looking Mustangs in history... and seeing this concept art, we’re definitely heading back into a repeat of the 70s

Well, actually the 1st “Pony” car was the Plymouth Barracuda. It went on sale on April 1, 1964 (two weeks before the Ford Mustang).
