I love my car 2024 Rapid Red S650 GT coupe 6 speed. Have few complaints, however... The reversing light is so f cken bad, I have to continue to break so the break lights show some glow! OMFG its bad, a candle would be an improvement, fellow S650's is there an upgrade out there?, what's the best one? Or is this just me being picky,I can't believe I'm the only one to have noticed this.

I haven't noticed this but I will check now. Im sure there are aftermarket LEDs that you can get though. Maybe you have a bad bulb or something?

LED lighting can be measured by two variables: lumen and Kelvin. Lumen is the intensity of the light. Kelvin is the color of the light. The higher the lumen, the brighter the light. The higher the Kelvin, the whiter the light. Task lighting, like the reverse light, often welcomes a white light. Ambient settings, like a living room, white light is off-putting and antiseptic.

I attempted to confirm the stock, 7G reverse light lumens rating, but could not.

In the 6G, the reverse light was a single, incandescent bulb. This bulb was rated at about 150 lumens.

For the 7G, Ford changed to a reverse LED light strip. The following link displays one. Note the socketed assembly.

For the 6G, one vendor sells replacement LED bulbs can range from 200 - 700+ lumens.

For the 7G, several vendors are advertising replacement strips. One lists theirs at 265 lumens.

If you google "2024 reverse light replacement strip", you'll find several vendors advertising parts. Most are selling the same one, rated at 265 lumens. One or two might be selling something else, but the lumen rating is not obvious.

Long story short: maybe start at the 265 lumen unit. If that isn't bright enough, another vendor might offer something higher still.

Lighting is subjective. IMO, using the highest available isn't necessarily the best solution. At a certain point, the intensity of a light can overwhelm both the driver and the setting they're in.

Disclosure: I have no association with Diode Dynamics or use their products. It's a site that clearly listed some specs I was interested in, so I used them as a reference.

PSA: I consider several LED products sold over the counter to be dangerous. Thousands of lumens in a single, small unit is impressive. And eye damaging. If testing new lighting, face the light away from the eyes, then turn it on.

I've never noticed mine being 'dim', but I agree the brake lights are much brighter.
