Removed the 80mm Mid from the dash . At least Ford don't discriminate and share the love with their country of origin purchasing. Changing out the Mids to a 4ohm should not affect as sub and bass 170mm are all running 4ohm. Has anyone stripped out the door and windscreen pillar speakers. Any photos.

What is the center-to-center measurement of the two mounting holes in this OEM speaker?
(In mm, pretty please)

I like the B&O system, way better than the Beats system in my Cupra.
Maybe my hearing's stuffed? (It almost is)

The sub and center speaker are the weakest links in the system. I replaced the sub and it made a noticeable difference. Ill get around to doing the center eventually. Unfortunately the sound systems in Mustangs have never been great. I will say the B&O system is waaay better than the so called "Shaker" systems from the S197 and S550.

B&O has surround and more speakers, but my 06 Shaker had a Cd player and that sounded way better than anything feeding this stereo.

That said... local radio stations sound much better in this car.

That's all due to the source. CDs will always sound better than Bluetooth.

Yeah but, changing CD's when you're alone? Having to listen to all the songs instead of your favourites? Where to store 10 CD holder thingies?
BTW, I'm impressed with Spotify lossless through both our cars systems

Well, Ideally you have a digital source. I wasnt hyping CDs or anything lol. Haven't used one in at least 10-15 years.

Went through the research exercise of replacing the 10" OEM sub. Do I add Pioneer or slim Focal replacement. Without putting an amp in line, the small output of the factory amp against the increased efficiency and increased power handling of the replacement sub could see the sound go backwards. Decided to experiment and use a combination of Home Theatre pyramid wall sound deadening material for the larger spaces and Response AX-3662 sound insulator for the small flatter areas. Move bass adjustment to 60% on internal screen and was very impressed with the difference in adding the sound deadening. This assisted the sub speaker to actually perform as a sub should. Not as punchy as a large magnet sub, but definitely deeper bass. Also read that a member had replaced their dash centre speaker with a Infinity 3032 CFX speaker drop in fitment. Sounded good, so I have ordered the set and as advised by the member will sell the second unit to another S650 owner + assist with installation. As per the photo if you remove the Phillips head screw, the bracket will separate from the magnet. Then you can pry off the plug from the white bracket leaving the connector and lead. Solder two speaker connectors to the speaker leads and you have a straight plug in connection to the Infinity 3032 CFX . Original OEM speaker is 8ohm, new Infinity is 4ohm. Sub and parcel shelve speakers are 4ohm, so it may be safe to say that the factory supplied 10 channel amp would have all channels with 4ohm output (can't see a 9 channel 4ohm and 1 channel 8ohm as a thing). So by deleting the original 8ohm and using the new 4ohn the power output of the centre speaker should increase from 12.5 watt to around 20watt.

Footnote. In multiple channel 4omh car amplifiers it is common to run one minor channel with an 8ohm speaker to pull the amp back from running at or beyond its limits. Heat being its enemy.

Just got a quote to update my B&0 system to something much higher level and was enough to make my eyes water but i think i am going to do it . Got an upgraded driver coming for the subwoofer ( not that Pioneer one eveyone is so hot on either , sensitivity on that is too low for the underpowered signal coming from that B&0 ( the zero is not a typo ) ;-) . Got a DD audio 10" sub coming with 89 db rating

New system specs
Musway pro6 DSP
Mille Pro 3 way Splits running active MPK163.3
Comprensive Deadening treatment
Installation , cabling , spacers and tuning ( multi day job ) for sound youd expect in a Bentley
$4500 aud

Will get a couple more quotes to make sure this is competitive , current quote from shop well regarded

I had a Musway MG12 sub and one 1000 sub amp installed in my 18 along with a Musway D8 10 ch DSP last year. Sounds good but a real difference is made with the sound deadening. I had the shop do the doors when they were installing Morels in 2018. I did most of the interior and boot area myself but not the ceiling. Just a suggestion but get them to allow for a follow up tune after a month or so of listening. I found mine a little too much on the bright side and got the shop to make adjustments.

If you are in to going outside Bris, Gold Coast Sound at Bundall did mine.
