Has anyone looked under the rear parcel shelf at the rear speakers and opened the sub woofer box. Since when were B & O speakers made in Vietnam. Ford sound system information sheet rates the system at 900 watts (possibly 50-75 watt rms which is generous). Rear parcel speakers are 25 watts each leaving 850 watts. Sub could be 100 watts max leaving 750 watts. Door bass speaker the same 170mm as rear parcel shelf, so minus 25 watt leaves 725 watts. This leaves the three 80mm mid range and two 25mm tweeters up front to share 725 watts. Even if you boosted the subs potential to 500 watt (which would see the voice coil stretched to the max and quickly developing voice coil strap) the left over power would be 325 watts for the fronts.
The only thing about this system that could be B & O is the DSP unit. Speakers ..................no.

As far as I know, B&O is in name only...all the speakers are cheap overpriced crap. I replaced the easy ones and for the most part it sounds OK now.

I ain't saying they are not cheap , because when you pay good money for an upgrade , you don't expect to see paper and little magnets.

Vietnam makes quality products though , imo. Now If I saw the Chinese import symbol, I'd be extremely pissed off.

I do agree , volume at zero , windows cracked halfway down, is the sweet spot for sound enjoyment in these cars.

For what the upcharge is on the B&O system and what Ford's buying power is, they could have really knocked it out of the park. The only thing B&O is the sticker. Everything is all low-end Ford parts. Sure, I like to hear just the engine.....sometimes. I love to here good music while I am driving with the engine in the background more.

Which did you replace and with what? I already changed out the sub but I’d probably do the ones I. The package tray if they are easy enough to remove.

The front center speaker is easily replaced. I posted a thread here on it. That was an improvement. A thread search should turn it up.

Note the OEM front speaker is 8 ohm. though some here have replaced it with a 4 ohm and not reported any trouble.

Ive had a base s650 at the same time as my dark horse. The BO system sounds waaay better than the base system. Its an even bigger gap between a base f150 sound system and B and O upgrade. I am not saying the system is the best thing under the sun as its not however its not bad by a long shot. Personally I rarely use the radio in this car, the exhaust sounds too good, especially with a HH pipe.

Thanks to all your valid comments (and the fact that they are worldwide comments, brings a wider opinion). True, who needs a sound system when you have a Dark Horse exhaust system (me H pipe and Track = Symphonic heaven).
Yes, the B & O badge could be the only thing B & O in the Stang. But that makes it a very expensive badge.
The build sheet from the factory for my Dark Horse shows that it has an Equipment Group package 700a MSRP 3,995US$ ( $6,139AUD$).
Forums on Mustang 7G list the differences between the 700a and 600a showing that the 700a package has the three way memory seat positioning. Not in my Dark Horse. Checked with the dealer and was told that "there was not a single Dark Horse in Australia with the three way memory seat positioning".
My Dark Horse does not have the "Easy entry and exit " programme. Does it exist?

Lastly, every dealership GT S650 I have viewed has illuminated door sills. But the Australian Dark Horse does not. Is this a Worldwide thing?

If you read the "fine print" on the B&O description, it says "Designed by B&O". Whatever that means. all the speakers I was able to see were made in China, and had inferior magnets and cheap paper cones.

Seems "Designed by" is just lending their name for a fee at the least, and at the most, programming the speaker balances.

That said, after replacing the sub and front speaker, it sounds pretty decent. I listen to the exhaust more anyway...

I'm not sure that any of the Dark Horses have illuminated door sills. My 600a does not and I cannot recall hearing anyone with a 700a say that they have them either.

Removed the 80mm Mid from the dash . At least Ford don't discriminate and share the love with their country of origin purchasing. Changing out the Mids to a 4ohm should not affect as sub and bass 170mm are all running 4ohm. Has anyone stripped out the door and windscreen pillar speakers. Any photos.
