Magnesium Wheels _ Shelby _Mustang

Got the 2025 Shelby Super Snake. It is absolutely beautiful. The bronze wheels in magnsium is what really caught my eyes! I worked with Shelby and found the Mag wheel supplier. Looks like they are out of Detroit MI. Just got a set through them for my Porsche 911. The 21" wheel only weighs 19.5LBS !!!!

$1500 for a single wheel is crazy to me. hope they never catch fire, because magnesium is the stuff that burns bright and they use to set off thermite, plus its near impossible to put out. anyways, thats a nice looking Super Snake. dont think i have seen one in Race Red before

yeah, and CF wheels are even more of a scam

also, true. i guess by that temp, you have more pressing issues than your wheels burning

Honestly when I was in vegas to pick up the Snake Shelbys driver Vince said the rotational mass reduction makes the drive noticeably better.

Mag wheels may be the new trend from everything i have been reading.

I knew a guy who look a magnesium rim and chained it under his car. He took the front shocks of, and every time he hit the brakes sparks flew. He's lucky his car didn't catch fire or blow up.

Yeah, and a little before that (umm, ~mid ‘60s) American mags were really magnesium. At least ours were. If they offered anything other than the Torq-Thrust style we were all unaware of it.

I don't wanna be that one (and OT..), but how the price of this car (that I agree is beautiful) is justified VS a supercharged GT or DH? Is it because of "collection" value?

Beautiful car, awesome wheels. That’s insanely light, I think my forged aluminum 19’s are 21 and 23 lbs.

Do they modify a GT? Does it have the 10R80, Tremec, or the MT-82?

They are 401A's, so either the A10 or MT-82

Dang. The tremec was probably 50% of the reason I bought the DH. It was either that, used Mach 1, or GT350. I had a 2017 with the MT-82 and that trans was a dog.
