So I know these are just renders, but I think they should provide an appropriate amount of hype for what may be coming. Although I can't imagine the sedan looking exactly one-to-one to the current coupe from the front and back, nice as that would potentially be.

I don't know what it is about these renders but they trigger the thought that Ford and Mercedes got Audi drunk on Prom Night and right now we are sorting out who the father is.

And here I thought it was the Elantras rear quarter...

...also, here say incoming, could you imagine RX8/Veloster doors on the coupe? I think that would be wild!
That single rear door thing was weird though. Lol.

as long as the coupe v8 is around. All i care about.
That’s the thing though, if a sedan has the same engine options and is priced around the same, I can see that being an issue down the road.

You have 2 cars that are similar with the same name, sedan will bring in more of the average buyer. Nothing would stop Ford from being like “well this has all the Mustang attitude and sells more so let’s keep this Mustang instead.” (People will say well a sedan Mustang is better than no Mustang, but the Mustang would be dead.)

No problem with ford wanting to cash in on the door factory performance sedan. Dodge did well there.

‘just call it it’s own thing. simple. Win-win.

it will likely cost more than an ecoboost Mustang and will likely cannibalize some Mustang sales. But in the end, it’s more sales for ford as a whole. It would need to be BETTER than the new charger though.

and using either the current geriatric s650 platform further or amortizing an all new space age Mustang platform (with “Mustang”being the actual platform name - in addition to the 2 door coupe name), it’s a win for FoMoCo - and more money for Ford from f150s, explorers, cars, etc = more money to invest in its enthusiast cars, the pinnacle of which is the Mustang.

I don’t know man it just looks weird. This concept drawing ford had looked more proportioned. Or do RX8 ish doors

IMG_3395.jpeg

If they changed the taillights it could be an awesome Falcon if Ford is watching. Huh @9secondko? Missed opportunity to go with the F150 Raptor route and use Mad Max marketing. Falcon GT for the V8, ecoboost V6 for a Falcon Raptor, SC V8 for the Falcon Raptor R. Do a “Interceptor” or “Pursuit Special” edition like the Bullitt. Could’ve made an entry level performance ecoboost “Sprint” model.
actually the concept you posted looks awesome. If they made that snd powered it properly, it would be a hit - so long as they don’t jump the shark and name it “Mustsng” or some vomit like that. “Falcon” would be s pretty cool comeback, and i like that idea a lot. But the only concern would be that maybe it doesn’t fit as much in this era, as some may seem to knock it as fitting with the napoleon dynamite “liger” crowd. Still, I think it could work. Another classic name that would really work with this look and have sort of a refined name while also bringing back hot rod vibes is “Torino.”
I’d be happy with either. But I could see more chicks digging the Torino name snd more dudes digging the Falcon name.

that red car render just looks really bad. Would sell like a steaming pile of refuse on a hot summer day.

the sleekness of the white concept is really nice. But unrealistic if built in a stretched s650 platform. As it is, when you pay attention to the seating areas and proportion it out from there, it makes for a gigantic car. Wouldn’t be surprised if that concept was based on SUV platform bones. Yikes.

would love to see the next gen Mustang (real mustang. Not door factory, or SUV) go for that kind of sleek profile snd very tight, minimal overhangs. Tired of modern looking concepts concepts that look awesome and then the real car comes out looking like a 200 year old horse and buggy version of that concept.

If they are banking on leveraging the ‘Mustang’ nameplate that infers others already know what a mustang is. Can’t use it as leverage if it doesn't represent anything. Why is bronco more sacrosanct.

Question: Has there ever been a 4 door pony car from anyone? There are hot sedans to be sure, but by definition, 4 doors is not a 'pony' car.
