The only way to properly add a rear wing. When mine was installed, it had square tubing brackets mounted in trunk to frame, with mount slabs protruding thru drunk lid, where wing would be attached. PIA to open trunk, if needed, had to take wing off.

I definitely agree on premise. Ford claims 620 lb downforce on SC now.
That's like it's engine w/supercharger (wet, not even dry) on the trunk.
Everything back there must be compressing a decent amount, on a stock 500/SC with CF Wing.

That's like it's engine w/supercharger (wet, not even dry) on the trunk.
Well, except aero downforce does not also pull the car sideways on turns like an an extra engine in the trunk would. It just pushes the tires down against the asphalt.

The trick with aero is getting the car balanced as best you can. Not having access to wind tunnels (and being able to afford them), it took a lot of "try this and try that", before we felt we knew how much wing angle to have to compliment the splitter and vice versa. Then adding the diffuser added more dynamics to everything and of course adding splitter end plates and winglets and playing with different designs of wing end plates........it never ended. The objective was to get the car to stick in the twisties better without sacrificing straight line speed to much....at least that was the theory of our objective.

Understood. Just trying to think what the wing mount area on trunk would look like after supporting a full weight predator on those wing mounts. Just feels like it wouldn't be pretty. :)

There is not a huge amount of extra support added for CF wing, at least not on my car. Maybe SC upgrades that area........https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdww_xU7uhc

Have you tried turning wing end plates?

I love the comparison. I wonder what effect the GT blade spoiler (if you can call it that) has on the reducing the lift (if any) vs the car with no spoiler.

The hood louvers got praise. But looking at the air exiting the hood... not creating drag or a low pressure area.

Then why does the hood flutter at speed?

I'm wondering if the vent itself is too small and there under hood pressure at speed.

Because the hood support stops need to be adjusted...
It's not the hood stop adjusters. Those are the front of the hood. It's the back of the hood that's fluttering up and down. And yes I adjusted them and yes it made no difference.

I always thought perhaps it was a low pressure thing caused by those hood vents but it's not according to the video.

That leaves me to think that there's too much pressure under the hood causing it to flutter because the vents are not big enough. And if you look at how much is going in simply due to the size of the radiator opening as compared to the size of the louvers on the hood exiting air over the head.... There's a big size difference in physical size.

I know air can exit under the car because it's not sealed but I can't think of another reason why that hood flutters like that by the windshield.

Given this it would seem to me to be the cause of the hood flutter.

The blade spoiler is more for looks that function. Proper wing placement, to get good downforce, needs to be almost level with the roof line and sit back from the rear a bit in order to get undisturbed airflow. Look at most competitive road course cars and their wing placement. Downside to this is more drag.

I raced 18 years top amateur levels. I get the wing thing.

The reason I asked the question is that looking at the wingless s650 you can see the boundary layer uninterrupted. This also resulted in some lift at speed.

I can't see how that blade wouldn't affect it , this the question.
