I don't pay any attention to gas mileage. If I was concerned about that I would have purchased a Ford Escape! 😜

Best I've gotten on highway is 22.6. I was surprised. My average is 14 to 18 mpg If I don't have my foot on it.
Same here with the manual and PP.
22+ on a rural highway day trip, just better than my F150 average. 14ish going for a Sunday drive. 😁

I managed to get 20.5 yesterday when I had an interstate trip by waiting until I was up to cruising speed, flipping on the cruise control at 83 mph and then resetting the mpg - it was at 20.5 when I arrived back home.

I was stopped by a nice Sheriff's Deputy on the return trip who said he clocked me at 72 mph in a . . . 55, 45? He wasn't sure. I assured him I had lived in the area for decades and that it was 55. He let me off with a warning.

:whew:

That's what I get for not using the cruise control sometimes.

You can set the adaptive cruise control to not exceed the speed limit. Its in the infotainment settings.

🤣 That would drive me bonkers. I normally set it for 13-14 over the speed limit, which keeps one from getting tickets around here.
It is quite possibly the most annoying feature anyone has ever put on a car. And using it automatically revokes your man card.

It's a neat option but, yeah, who sets a top speed for driving?
Well, in a way, that is what I do by using the cruise control.

I have a very hard time driving at a reasonable speed just using the "this speed feels right and safe" internal speed meter. My internal speed meter is set way higher than everybody else, apparently, and far too high for my state's legislators, obviously. Two years of living in Germany and traveling with no speed limits for major portions of the drive combined with more than a decade in law enforcement in a very busy department with chases and emergency calls and so on . . . and being basically immune from tickets (it would be very rare for an officer to write another police officer a ticket) and habits develop that are hard to shake.

Damn! If you're 5 or 6mph over the limit here, you're getting a ticket. 2 over on the interstate, which is already an 80mph limit, nets a roadside visit as well. The only upside to any of this is that the fines are dirt cheap. However, any ticket that earns you a single point on your license will be reported to your insurance company. That's an unfortunate rule they just changed within the last few years, it used to be that it had to be 3 points.
