Long McArthurs numbers are based on the currently scheduled for production numbers. They change weekly. Where as this infographic is looking at every ordered 2024 mustang both produced, and in the queue.
That is probably true but the above graphic shows 50% of ecoboost buyers are optioning the perf package while only 22% of GT buyers are. The perf package is the only way to get the drift brake, right?

the infographic says they have 50% increase in customers selecting the performance package for ecoboost compared to the last 3 years. Not that 50% of ecoboost customers are ordering the performance package.

but yes the drift brake only comes with the performance package.

Some interesting things ive found on the specs page. The horsepower for the Dark Horse is at 7,250 RPM. First time i have seen confirmation of that. Also, the curb weights have been listed, looks like a slight increase across the board.

It also looks like maybe the bore was increased slightly from 92.2 to 93.0? Could be a misprint?

Nevermind its the same displacement increase that happened with the Gen 3 at 93mm bore, they hadn't updated their specs in 2023 i guess.

Actually, it wasn't but about 25 years ago that manual was the base transmission, and automatic was an upgrade. Most of us coming if age in the 90s and back learned on a manual. My first car had a manual. Yes, I wanted to learn, but also couldn't afford a car with an auto.

I ordered a manual this time purely for fun. I know it's slower and gets lower mileage. I don't care. It's about the experience of driving. To me, a manual enhances the driving experience.
FWIW, as far as where I got the "over 50 years" part from, I was going off the stat below.

Granted, this was just for new and "large" cars....

In the United States, over 80% of new cars had automatic transmission by 1957.[3] Automatic transmission has been standard in large cars since at least 1974.[5]

I guess the nice thing about not having a VIN or build date yet is I was able to change my color after seeing I chose the most popular color

Very true. I guess I was going off of just what was base (manual) and what was an upgrade (automatic) even on pickup trucks.

False sense of superiority
a. thinking it’s an advanced skill when literally anyone with a license could pick it up if given the appropriate basic education, time, and instruction, likely within minutes
b. knowing that they’re in an extremely small minority of drivers that elects to drive manual over auto
c. having outdated views on the current landscape of automated transmissions (efficiency, shift speed, shift response, performance)

Likely their entire personality too

“what’s your favorite color?”

“I drive a manual”

I think it’s a rite of passage to own at least one black car to understand what peak anguish feels like after cleaning the thing for an hour only to have it look like it went through a hundred mile road trip after a few hours

My first car was black, never again 😭
Lol cause this post doesnt scream superiority complex

Just let ppl drive what ever the fck they want to drive. Manual, auto great. We're all in it for the Mustang and that's the beauty of the brand, highly customizable. Yall need to chill.
