How many days does it take to build?

just got this in my email tonight/morning now what is the issue I wonder; we ran out of parts, or we forgot how to put the parts together . I'm now really wondering if I made a good choice by ordering this car?

Ford's systems are not entirely inter-connected. Status updates of different types can lag the real world by days.

At the time, my car took 10 days from "In Production" to "Built".

I've always taken "Blend" as when all the significant parts are on the line and at-the-ready, or, the date when the unibody and K-member/engine assemblies merge.

The line schedule itself, Holidays, weekdays, etc., can all play apart. IF there is some type of issue, the car is set aside and will not leave the plant until the matter is resolved; fortunately, these instances are few and far between.

After being built, your car will go to the depot, where is could sit for several days to a few weeks until loaded on a carrier. Trains and convoy trucks only leave when full.

Your dealer should already have awareness of the expected route and timing. If any waypoints are involved, the car will only move when the next carrier is fully loaded. The dealer will get updates as to where the vehicle is at each point.

Two months to arrive at the dealer? That's a boilerplate response. Customer Service doesn't know and they shouldn't try to answer. Ford should have referred you to the dealer.

Regarding window stickers and the wording "Convoy" versus "Rail" it's my belief these terms refer to the last leg of the journey, not the entire trip. Mine was marked Convoy; it went through three rail yards, the last segment by truck. F150s in my area are often marked, "Rail"; these stop at a local depot, with carrier personnel driving each one a handful of miles to the dealer.

I got one of the "sorry for the delay" emails while my car was completed and waiting to ship. If the tracker is progressing... ignore the email.

and here is the tracker . the delivery is convoy and a 2 month wait? I cant believe it would take that long to drive from Michigan to Kentucky.

Hahaha, I've literally been telling people how to use the glitches in the system as status updates, that should tell you how reliable it is.

In all seriousness, everything after "built", just ignore dates. Once it goes to Shipped, it's going to be sent out, and you can talk to your dealership about a week after that happens to start asking for an ETA (give it a few days). And for the love of all that his holy, DO NOT ask Ford Chat for dates and then freak out when they tell you it's coming December 31, 2028.

Of all the options available (ford chat, dealer salesperson, or tracker) it seems to give the most (and up to date) info... though it doesn't always work quite right. One would expect their dealer to keep them informed, but most can't be bothered. My salesman did send me a text when it was scheduled, another when it went into production, and the last was when it was delivered... not every step of the way, but better than most.

Mine updated to September 2-8th today for delivery estimate from October 20 something from before

The order status is Awaiting Shipment at Flat Rock Assembly Plant, MI. The order has an estimated delivery date between Aug-26-Sep-01 which is only an estimate. Mine updated on the 18th with an earlier estimated delivery, and then the "last updated" changed this afternoon, no other changes. I still haven't bothered with chat

Mine updated sometime within the last 24 hours while I was out of town.

Oddly enough the ESTIMATED DELIVERY DATE updated on the 20th HOWEVER the Last Updated still reads the 17th!!

My Sales Rep said she should be coming in on the 5th and so I've made an appointment for the 9th for the PPF, Tint and roof wrap and then a week later for full ceramic coating (once they are sure the PPF has set properly).
