Have 2 Ford Dealers and a bunch of the rest, Mavis, etc. I want to rotate my tires so need a lift. Want to be sure belly panel is re-installed correctly and no oil drips. What oil do you recommend ? Full synthetic ? What is the correct oil filter number ? Thanks.

Is this the specified 1st change, or are you doing it early?
I did mine early, 2000km and used Mobil One 5w/30 and a genuine filter. I also like Castrol Edge 5w/30LL.
If you do it yourself, you only need to remove the larger rear part of the under pan. Guess how I know.
Does your car have the same wheel size front and rear? If not, you can't swap front to rear. Some people swap sides, but I can't see the point.

Do not overthink this. Since you do not want to do it yourself (and there is absolutely nothing wrong with this, I haven't in years) just take it to one of your dealers. Speak to the service manager and ask that his best tech be assigned to your brand new pony.

Ask far as the filter the dealer will install the right one (again speak to the manager and throw the tech a ten spot). I've always used the Syn Blend and never had an issue. But if you want to spend there extra $$$ for full Syn, just do it. Just make sure the dealer shows you the containers it came from.

As Bikeman315 said, and I did with some twists, just go sit down with the service manager, get to know him (make a friend if possible), and just nicely explain your wants and expectations.

I did that, told him I already had my own PUP full synthetic and filter and would he have one of his best techs do my first oil change. I also asked him if I could look at the underneath of my car as I would be doing all subsequent oil changes. He nicely said yes, and offered to do it for just $35.00 labor with a tech that has 10 years experience at the dealership.

That's what being nice and up front will do for you.

This is debatable, but I prefer taking my Ford vehicle to a Ford Service Dept., as they're trained and educated on the various Ford Models and I believe they know best on how to service my Ford. Now with that said, if I'm displeased in anyway about the level of service, I'd have a conversation with the Service Mgr., about my displeasure. My particular Service Mgr., I've known for years and he's very approachable and would make my issue right.
As for type of oil and filter, if you have a 2024 Mustang, Owner's Manual, page 368 & 371 provides info on that. If you have a 2025, its somewhere within that range, I think.

gee ok, no reason why?
If you look at its additive package, it's got a shit load of detergents while skimping on the actual anti-wear additives. Theres no need for the detergents to be as high ppm as they are, its overkill for a brand new car.

Now, if you stuck it in a sludgy 20 yr old motor, you'd absolutely see it start cleaning the sludge out, theres countless accounts of this, but its not worth sacrificing anti-wear additives for detergents on a 4th gen coyote, just use amsoil or motorcraft and do the oil changes on a decent schedule.

You can find spec sheets out there somewhere comparing the RP to other oils. Plenty have shown its contents.

Under testing, multiple different testers found that its not any better than other oils, underperforms versus a few. Motor Oil Geek, 540 RAT, Project Farm, they've all done testing

It is very much riding on its marketing - the purple color gained a lot of traction among hot boy racers with their Japanese cars back in the day - Its just a dye that makes it purple, not any additive package.

Hence, in my honest opinion, save the money and buy a different oil.

Not to start a big oil discussion. Planty of threads for that but this was the AI return. And AI is as only smart as it’s programmed boundaries just like Chat GPT

Both Royal Purple and Mobil 1 are well-regarded synthetic motor oils, and in many cases, they offer similar levels of protection and performance for a vehicle's engine. However, Royal Purple is often considered a more "high-end" option, potentially with slightly better film strength in certain tests, while Mobil 1 is widely available and readily accessible.

Elaboration:
    • Similar Quality:
Both Royal Purple and Mobil 1 are full synthetic oils, meaning they are chemically engineered to provide superior protection and performance compared to conventional oils.
    • Royal Purple's Strength:
Royal Purple is known for its strong oil film strength, which is the ability of the oil to maintain a protective layer on engine components under pressure and high temperatures.
    • Mobil 1's Availability and Price:
Mobil 1 is often seen as a more accessible and budget-friendly option, while Royal Purple may command a higher price point.
    • Performance in Racing:
Royal Purple is also popular in motorsports, particularly for high-performance racing engines, where its strong oil film strength and ability to resist temperature extremes are highly valued.
    • Compatibility:
Both Royal Purple and Mobil 1 are compatible with most engine types and are generally safe to use in vehicles that require full synthetic oil.
    • Test Results:
Some independent tests have shown Royal Purple outperforming Mobil 1 in certain areas, such as oil film strength, while others have shown them performing similarly.
    • Customer Reviews:
Both brands have positive reviews from customers, with many praising their ability to improve engine performance, prevent leaks, and provide peace of mind in extreme temperatures.
In summary: For daily driving, either Royal Purple or Mobil 1 will provide excellent protection and performance for your engine. Royal Purple may offer slightly better film strength in certain applications, while Mobil 1 is more readily available and budget-friendly.

In a head-to-head comparison, AMSOIL generally outperforms Royal Purple in specific tests, particularly when it comes to lubricity (wear scar size), cold flow, evaporation, and long-term oil performance. AMSOIL's change intervals are also longer, with 25,000 miles or one year for normal service and 15,000 miles or one year for severe service, compared to Royal Purple's 12,000 miles for both. While AMSOIL is often more expensive than Royal Purple, Preferred Customer pricing for AMSOIL can offset this difference.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Key Differences and Performance:
    • Lubricity:
AMSOIL demonstrated smaller wear scars in lubricity tests, indicating better protection against engine wear.
    • Cold Flow:
AMSOIL's oils flowed more readily after being chilled, suggesting better cold-weather performance.
    • Evaporation:
AMSOIL exhibited lower evaporation rates, meaning it retains more oil properties over time.
    • Change Intervals:
AMSOIL's change intervals are longer, allowing for fewer oil changes.
    • Price:
While AMSOIL can be more expensive than Royal Purple, Preferred Customer pricing can make it a more competitive option.
Factors to Consider:
    • Your Vehicle's Needs:
Consider your vehicle's operating conditions (normal vs. severe service) and whether you prioritize specific performance characteristics like cold-weather performance or long-term protection.
    • Budget:
Royal Purple can be more budget-friendly, while AMSOIL's longer change intervals and performance benefits may offset a higher initial cost.
    • Personal Preferences:
Some users find AMSOIL to be a better overall performer and prefer its specific features and benefits.
In summary, AMSOIL often outperforms Royal Purple in specific tests, particularly in terms of lubricity, cold flow, evaporation, and change intervals. However, the choice between the two depends on your individual needs, budget, and preferences.

Reality check guys. Our cars are no different than the millions of other cars. It just an oil change. Don't over think it.
