@MegaMan ......and the best part is, at the end of the day we get to drive off in a Mustang EB/GT/DH .....and the other guy is driving away in a corvette .....a knock-off wanna be euro car.

From experience,

I am modded with simple performance mod (i.e steeda cold air intake plus 90mm dark horse throttle body and H-pipe exhaust) and some more circuit track focus mods to the suspension and I still lost to a stock C8 with a 6.2L (runtime 12.1sec to his 11.9sec) Maybe it’s me as a driver, but I’ve been eyeballing the 5.5L corvettes for awhile and would love to experience one on track.

could be driver, could be car. I got a wake up call when I first got into road racing.....got beat regularly by Miata's. they handled the twisties better than me being so light.

I went to a few track events with DriveNASA and TurnOne. When I had an instructor with me, I pick their brain and took every bit of knowledge they gave me. I still don’t think I’m fast but I’m learning.

Weelllll, anyone can say what they want but I had a C5 Z06 that would out run my new 2025, I'm pretty sure. It pulled ungodly hard from dead stop or rolling. It had a catback and minor edit that's all. It was rated at a stock 405hp and was about 700 to 800 pounds lighter than a GT which makes a LOT of difference. Chevrolet advertised a top end of 171 mph due to gearing (stock 350hp had a higher top end) and it would get there quick. It was tracked at Road Atlanta, Barber Motorsports, and Little Talledega so it and me had some experience.

That said, I got rid of it because it was a POS except for the engine and paint job. The paint job was a light year ahead of my race red GT sitting in my garage. Yep, Chevrolet did a good paint job back in the day. Ford has orange peel down to a fine art..... šŸ™„ FWIW.

.....yeah sure. Friend has a C8. Will is beat my GT - of course, but then he drives a clown car that looks like s child's transformer toy only with $hitttier characteristics. Couldn't care less about it's (C8's) performance, it's still a clown car. Cheap copy of crap euro fluff. No matter what they do the C8 still sounds like what it is - a tinny/raspy sounding, ugly clown car. Anyway why are we talking about crap cars on a Mustang forum.....there must be some rule against that on this forum?

Stay with it. Takes time. I didn't become competitive till after about 4 years progressing through the different levels and even then I continued to learn about the car and the driver. Set a realistic goal each year/season, that'll help motivate you to give it your best.

I've owned two C7 Z06's. There is no comparison between the Mustang GT and the Z06. The Z06's were without a doubt the best bang for the buck cars I've ever owned.

I'm not sure I can take anything you say seriously after these two comments.
