Maybe a hundred pounds, probably less. But no one stepping up to a 401a (or a 400a for that matter) would care. Means nothing on the street and the creature comforts are worth every pound.
Yeah, I’m thinking that if nobody cares there probably wouldn’t be a rear seat delete option.

Does anyone know what the actual differences between the 400a and 401a equipment packages are. I just ordered a 2024 GT premium and am now considering switching from 400a to 401a after reading some forums. I am hearing a lot of mixed things about the differences.

This is it. Shouldn’t be any mixed messages. 👍

I was also unsure of the 401A because there is no detailed explanation I could find of “Premier Trim with Color Accent Group.” I can’t compare 400A to 401A on the S650, but I had the 400A on my S550 and now have the 401A on my S650. I consider the leather seats in my S650 to be much nicer than they were in my S550. They are a much softer. The seats in my S550 were a very stiff leather. I’ve not found the specifics of whether this is a difference between S550 Premium/S650 Premium or 400A/401A, but from others comments, I assume it to be the latter.

As far as the trim in the 401A, there are also portions of the door panels and console with a leather (probably faux leather)material with stitching. I was not sure if my seatbelt would have the color accent since I ordered the onyx black interior, but it does have a gray accent strip. I like the better look of the 401A soft trim.

I haven’t been in a car yet, but the only difference I can see in pics between the interiors of the 400a PP and 401a PP cars is the steering wheel and speakers. Everything else looks identical.

The 401A has much more leather and contrast stitching throughout. It's very apparent on the center console - easy to spot.

Center console is exactly the same for performance pack 400a & 401a. That’s why I didn’t pay the extra $2900. You get all the contrast stitching with 400a PP too. Or else they just accidentally put it in mine…

Yup. Compare pictures of 400a PP interior and 401a interior for performance pack GTs that have been posted on this forum. There’s not much difference at all.
That’s because you are looking at pictures. Sit in a 401a look, touch & feel. The differences will become very apparent. Also the PP is a stand alone option. Has nothing to to with the feature packages, 400a/401a.

Lastly the 401a has features that cannot be been in a picture. Once taken in its totality there isa big difference between the two and IMHO well worth the money.

Incorrect. That’s what I thought at first too from the information in Ford’s website. PP changes the center console though. Also, I talked to a couple guys that sat in both and the touch and feel is the same just like the pictures. Unsurprisingly, Ford’s advertising was a little misleading. I’m not saying the 401a is bad though. All the interiors are a step up from the s550.You are correct that there’s other features that 401a has that aren’t obvious though. The extra steering wheel buttons (adaptive cruise control) are part of them. There’s also the light up doorsills and mirror turn signals. Those aren’t a big deal to me personally though.
