I was set on a Dark Horse but now thinking a GT would make more sense. 486HP for the GT and 500 for the DH is not much and I doubt that I will ever have my 2024 Mustang at the Drag Strip more than a couple times if ever with no road course outings.
We live in SW Florida where everything is pool table flat with no twisties, almost all 90 degree turns at stop signs and red light intersections. For that reason I am thinking that the additional cost for the "track oriented" DH would be tough to justify and I'm not sure if I even like the dark emblems and appearance of this model.
I guess it is fear of making a mistake here as I have done in the past with these types of choices. Nice that we have these great options.
Is there anything I am missing about the DH that could sway me in that direction which I can certainly afford.

The suspension tuning is better, magneride comes standard, forged internals are better from what I recall (if you go forced induction and are hoping to build a 1000 hp+ car, this will be important), torsen differential. Cons are gas guzzler tax, mileage is worse (smiles per gallon > miles per gallon). If you aren't gonna track it, then I would recommend just the normal GT

Sounds like might be better suited for a Prius.

Seriously, if you're just looking for a daily driver to get you from point A to BE with no plans to modify, perhaps neither a GT nor a DH are well suited for you.

Here we go again! šŸ˜†

A GT with Performance Pack drives and handles very similarly to a Dark Horse with non-handling pack. (I've driven both.) If money is not an issue, honestly, just pay a few thousand dollars more and get a Dark Horse. Especially if you're already planning to add every last option to a GT, which makes the difference in cost fairly negligible if you can get a DH at sticker price. It would be worth it for the Tremec alone if you're going manual.

Question: How do the standard (non-Premium) Dark Horse seats look like in person? (I can't get a good feel for them in the configurator. Photos would be HIGHLY appreciated!)

Standard seats are the same whether DH base or DH Premium. The only difference is if you get the optional RECAROs. The standard seats are very nice and do provide great support, especially if you're going to be doing mostly/all daily driving, are older, or if your body doesn't "fit" well in the optional RECARO seats. Personally, I've owned a number of vehicles with the RECAROs and I love them.

I would encourage you to sit in (and test drive, if you can) a car with the standard seats and one with the RECAROs.

Unfortunately Dark Horse is definitively out of the question for me unless I go with stick as a daily driver (I liked how the Tremec felt in the GT350 felt but I'd prefer not to daily a manual). I was just asking purely from a color curiosity standpoint. It looks purplish blue on the vinyl/cloth seats, but then it looks like a very dark blue on the leather/dinamica seats in the configurator, so that's why I wanted to see some photos of the base Dark Horse interior, just for clarity's sake.

If I were tracking the car a DH would be my choice but for driving around and enjoying yourself the GT is a fine choice.

Plenty of YT videos that show the seats. They're like a grayish blue.

Interesting. I haven't had success finding YouTube videos with the non-premium Dark Horse. What search terms did you use?

If you are even questioning it just get the GT

There are some people that won’t be able to tell much of a difference between the two.

There are some people who will be able to tell the difference… it will stand out much more to them.

Just like there are some people who can’t tell the difference between a cheap and high end golf club and to some there will be a huge difference.

I’ve never driven a Dark Horse but I can tell the difference between a GT PP1 and a Mach 1

Would’ve loved to beable to get a darkhorse, but as a 21 year old and my first born just arriving i optioned for a GT premium. I’ve loved every second of driving my first mustang and can absolutely vouch for the GT
