Hi fellows, hope you are enjoying your Mustangs!
I got my GT in march, and since day one until today I still feel the car super over heavy and slow to accelarate.
First I need to say Im not a very good driver or expert in mechanics: I always think It might be only my impression or that I’m doing something wrong while driving. But I wonder if the car has some mechanical-construction problem or if it’s just an expected project “issue”.
i have 2 cars (2 Fords): the GT 24 and a Maverick 22.
The truck is so light, fast and smart. You step on, the car answers immediately and gains speed quickly, with no struggle, silently. Its a rocket.
Now the GT is a struggle. You step on and the car looks soooo heavy and takes forever to gain any speed, like you are driving a Suburban and towing a house at the same time. Its a real pain in the ass to drive around the suburbs, or just to take an exit left, because the car doesnt answer. But the V8 sound is there. My wife usually ask me why Im speeding and I say: no Im not! Im inly at 30 mph - the engine sound and vibration makes it look like it…
When Im on the road, its nicer. The car is super stable and accelerates well even If I think its more noisy than fast. I believe any Audi would get to 110 mph without so much struggle-noise. But I also believe this is what we should expect from a Mustang? You tell me.
With a V8 twin turbo 480 HP huge engine, I believe the car should drive better. I have followed some tips from this forum and tried the sport, track and drag modes, and I was expecting to reach 1000 miles to get the car adapted to my driving style but after 5 months still feels the same.
Does anyone here has the same impressions about driving a GT? Should I go to Ford to have the car checked? Or Im just just too noob? (I might be)
tyyy folks!
