Am curious why you need the battery charger in such new car? Never had to use one in any of my cars…

It's not for the car, it's for the battery. If you're only driving a vehicle a few times a month, it's good practice to keep the battery at full charge using a very low amperage battery maintainer. This is especially true in cooler or colder climates but should be done regardless of climate if you're not driving it often enough to keep the battery at full charge.

If you have read about all the computer error messages on this forum, you'll find they have a common thread - The Battery.
A new car battery does NOT have a full charge from Flat Rock. and it sits a lot.
I put a 5 amp NOCO AGM maintainer on mine as soon as I got it home. It took almost 48 hours for it to get really close to full charge. I had to take it off a few time to go somewhere, but I put it back on after returning. 84 miles, no problems.

Do you only want it for maintenance? Then get a NOCO. You don't NEED a high amp version just for maintenance ... even the 1A version is perfectly adequate for that. But here are a few in different amperages:

Good question. Not sure if I want it just for maintenance or possibly more. Honestly I'm just trying to think ahead and figure out things to get and have on hand in case something goes haywire with the battery,etc which seems likely at some point,lol

I have the Clore for programming and a NOCO for every vehicle I own (SXS, ATV, cars, boats, etc.) except my F150, which I daily drive.

I've only got about 280 miles on the DH, so I haven't really driven it enough to notice a whine (or lack of). I'm not driving it until I get the ceramic coat and tint done (dropping off tomorrow). I drove it home from the dealer as well as to/from work twice, and I can not say that I've noticed any whine.
