Query: what's a better way to clean my 2024 GT's windshield? I dislike less than crystal-clean glass. Been using Windex on a micro cloth supported on one of those pivoting paddle-with-a-handle thingees on the interior of the windshield with indifferent results.

There's a product called Perfect Glass. Leaves no streaks. But even microfiber leaves little fuzzies. When I cleaned glass in a frame shop I learned the best thing to wipe with is newspaper....doesn't leave streaks.

When it cool out 1st thing in the morning, I have used some dawn soap mixed with water to wash the window down, then a rinse with water only both on outside and inside. Great results.

Stoners and Sprayway, but there are alot of good glass cleaners, but they struggle with anything that is greasy, like the buildup on the inside of the windshield from the off gassing of the plastics. Use a 50/50 mix of alcohol and water to clean the windshield first, then use a glass cleaner to clean off any leftover residue. Glass will be nice and clean. Also use a very low knap MF towel, or a MF towel specific to glass cleaning so there are no leftover fibers.

I clean off-gassing film with a 50/50 mix of Stoner's and water with a micro-fiber rag followed by a polishing with old wadded up newspaper. Pure Stoner's just smears it around. I will be doing that tomorrow. Offgassing with a new car is awful for a good while. In fact, I never use a glass cleaner without it being a 50/50 mix.

No matter what the brand, avoid ammonia cleaners. Newspaper is not as common anymore, so I use paper shop towels.

I seen a video on YTube and I didnt believe it till I tried it, but wet a Magic Eraser then squeeze all the water out and wipe down the all the glass inside and out and dry with a drying towel. It works just as good if not better than window cleaner.

I use Windex ammonia free glass cleaner and it seems to work for me. I'm sure there are better products but I'm satisfied.

With glass, the key is to keep it simple. I've tried countless glass cleaners over the years, but in my experience, the fancier they are, the worse they perform. This is all that you need -

Glass Cleaner - Stoner's Invisible Glass, cheap, simple, effective and freely available. Also, I much prefer the liquid version, not the foam type as it's less messy to use.
Auto Glass Cleaner (Spray) – Invisible Glass

Towels - You need a low nap but dense towel for glass. I've tried them all, but the TRC waffle weave are the best. Order at least four as sometimes if you have an excess of buildup, you want to clean the glass twice, switching to fresh towels after the first round. (You want the 16x24 size)
Amazon.com: The Rag Company - Dry Me A River - Professional Korean 70/30 Blend, Microfiber Waffle-Weave, Drying & Detailing Towels, Soft Suede Edges, 390gsm, 16in x 24in, Royal Blue (3-Pack) : Automotive

Reach & Clean Tool (or similar) - This is a must for the steep rear windshield, as well as reaching right down to the base of the front screen.
Auto Reach & Clean Quick Change Auto Tool – Invisible Glass

Tips -

1. Never attempt to clean glass when its hot/warm to touch, it's a futile endeavor.

2. For interior glass, spray into the towel not directly. This is method is less messy and makes it safer for the surrounding plastics.

3. If you have excessive residue, clean with one set of towels, then switch to fresh towels and repeat. This prevents transferring grime for window to window as the towels become loaded with the grime.

Newspaper -

Up till the late 1980's, the ink used in newspaper printing had the ability to lightly polish glass, in effect leaving a clean and clear result.

However, they stopped using that ink a VERY LONG time ago, so using modern newspaper is a placebo and a waste of time. Dense, low nap microfibre is easier and more efficient.
