Ford Shows 4-door Mustang Hybrid to Dealers; Price <$40k, <4 sec 0-60, size/design likened to Panamera

Porsche sales numbers are non existent though. Ford sells more Rangers alone than every Porsche model sold in the USA.

This 1000% Porsche would kill for the numbers Ford gets in one month on the Ranger. If it wasn't for the 911, Porsche would be done.

In 2023, 911 sold 20,000 more units than Ranger - Ranger's 1st year. In 2024, Ford and Porsche sold about the same number. In 2025, Ranger moved 20,000 more units. That is to say, Porsche has two different nameplates (Cayenne, Macan) that move units than the Ranger.

In 2023, 911 sold 20,000 more units than Ranger - Ranger's 1st year. In 2024, Ford and Porsche sold about the same number. In 2025, Ranger moved 20,000 more units. That is to say, Porsche has two different nameplates (Cayenne, Macan) that move units than the Ranger.

Now look at USA sales numbers...they only sold a total of 76,000 in the USA last year

I called one of my contacts at Chevrolet and this is what he told me about the new Camaro and actually sent me artist rendition that should be release if not already released. IT WILL BE A 4 door sport sedan on the Alpha 2 Frame, it will have the LS-6 6.7 liter engine and will have 535 HP. Rear Wheel Drive, base engine 4 cylinder turbo engine, will have Tremec six speed, standard or auto, He told me something I suspected, he four-door Camaro may actually be fairly large — reports compare its dimensions to the old Chevrolet SS or Malibu rather than making it a small compact sedan, as I stated yesterday. What I find very interesting, is when he told me he knows Ford is planning a 4 door gas powered Mustang to be released in 2029 too. Appears the pony cars have grown up to sport sedans and this will restart the Mustang/Camaro rivalry once again but on larger cars. Here is the photo he sent me... To me it looks like the recent Impala. So Ford and Chevy are still at it beind doors....

The thing that worries me about a low volume platform is parts availability. My GTO sat at the dealer for a long while (months) waiting for a lower control arm. Unfortunate event involving a police chase and some train tracks.

My G8 also shared the problem of being under sprung and being a bad overall design to get some real wheel/tire underneath.

Told me the Alpha 2 Frame used on the Blackwing Caddy is specifically build for a 4 door body, and the new Camaro will be using the same platform. If they did go to 2 door the frame would need to be altered and they would have to get it fully certified again. But he did say they still did not say no.

Going off sales numbers, the mustang is a significantly better coupe and sports car than anything on sale. Keep in mind, the mustang has like a 58% market share of the entire sports car market in the US. The c8, z, gr86, Miata, they're all fighting over that 42%.

So going off volume, the mustang doesn't need to learn anything from anymore else in the segment. But in terms of how to make it more aspirational, learning from other brands isn't a terrible idea.

That’s true, but they haven’t showed that yet outside of the GTD.
