Flat River Assembly Plant working on Saturdays?

Does anybody know if the Flat Rivers Ford Assembly Plant is working on Saturdays, or just Monday throuugh Friday?

Looking back through previous threads, Ford schedules were Wed-Wed; this constituted one week of production. The term week means they will be assembling vehicles in that block of time, but it does not mean they will be building cars every day.

The number of shifts per day depends on the expected volume. Sometimes, it's one shift. Others, often towards the Fall and year-end close, round-the-clock.

Ford closes for all major holidays. There is also a Summer and Fall Holiday break.

Two factors I feel most important are orders and parts availability. If they have a good amount of both, their building. If not, there might be a break of several days or weeks before they have a good amount of both again.

Some vehicles go into production and are completed in a few days. Others might become partially assembled, only to be interrupted by a break of a few days to weeks before workers return.

@Skye ..... exectly. Closed for Christmas too. What you have said rings particularly true at order time. Some purchasers totally option-up their Mustangs - can't blame them for that - but the more "exotic" you make your Mustang the more likely one of the options can hold it up.

MEH! He was close.

I was born about 200 yards from the actual Flat River in Ionia County, MI. No Ford plant though!
