$50M for Flat Rock. Relative to the other plants, not so much $.

The second article highlights a lot of EV activity, from new battery packs to vehicles. Seeing as how the DH is still in Year 1, it seems too soon for an S650 GT500-like variant. I wonder if Ford is leaning forward to the sometimes-discussed Mustang hybrid. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️ Ford evolved other lines into hybrid models and later full electrics (see F150).

@Ford Motor Company , c'mon, you can tell us. We'll keep it G14 Classified. :bandit: . We promise. 🤞:giggle:
I love the idea of a mustang hybrid to be honest.
Dump the ecoboost and give us either all electric coupe/convertible, hybrid V8 like the Corvette E-Ray and naturally aspirated V8. Unlikely right now, but maybe some day! 🍻

I have a few hypotheses.

Most likely, this is investment for the next GT500. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be. Rumors have been floating around that a GT500 would be coming in 2024 as a 2025 model.

Second, it could be an old image, and the note was there as allocation of resources for the Mustang GTD.

The lesser likely of the theories to me is that maybe the CX799 Coupe that was mentioned earlier in the year could instead be produced at FRAP instead of in Mexico. I don't think the investment is large enough for this personally, but anything can happen.

And the most wild theory is maybe a mid-engine Mustang is, in fact, on the way. 🤪

Whatever the case is, I'll be keeping an eye out for any personalities that went quiet following the order banks opening to start talking again, since some of them had their speculations hit the nail on the head.
Didn't Ford or maybe another source, say the Mustang GTD would be a Multimatic product build? I am pretty sure that's who built the car we've all seen in the photos.
I guess we'll have to wait and see what the $50 mil buys at Flat Rock!

BTW, anybody out there have any suggestions about a problem that has cropped up on my 2015 V6 'vert w/automatic? I am now (98,000 miles) having vibration issues in the drivetrain? Had 2 shops take the driveshaft out (thinking it was bad) and one (American Muscle by Driveshaft Shop) did not fit and two (a local driveline specialist) did not work. Should I try the dealership?
Not sure what to do now.
ANY help/suggestions would be appreciated!

Bad vibration damper or other rubber used in the drive train. The other thing to examine is the CV joints. My 62 Falcon developed a problem like that and it turned out to be an old rear transmission mount. The rubber had aged and could no longer handle the little wiggle that normally happens in the drive shaft. After it was replace, no vibration no matter what the speed.

They said assembly will finish at Multimatic. As to what that means as far as how much of the car is assembled at FRAP, only Ford knows. 🤷‍♂️
