So I did my oil change at 1200 miles, and just got a message at 3000 miles my oil life is at 5%. I know I reset the message because I took pictures of me doing so, I drive the car pretty hard, is this just an error, or am I really due for an oil change after 1800 miles? I don’t track the car, just drive with the paddle shifters a lot. I used pennzoil ultra plat. Should I do the oil change or ignore the message?

Ignore it, its way to early for a change. Atleast wait to 3k miles in between every change.

How long has it been? If it's been close to a year the computer will want it changed. But only a year....it's fine, just reset it again

It’s been 4 months or so. I thought it had to be an error, I’ve never got a message that early on any of my performance cars.

That’s what I was going to do, any reason it would come on so early though?
Not sure, havent heard of it coming on early before you. Probably just a computer mistake

Do you have the maintenance warranty? I did and have done 3 oil changes and the car has only 5000 kilometers. When the screen says change it I do and the next one is in November.

I stick to 5K miles or 6 months. Which ever is first. To me, a year is too long on a coyote. Everybody has an opinion.

Driving conditions and time all factor in to the oil life %. I can personally tell you that driving the car hard will drastically reduce oil life. Just ask anyone who has been on the track.

Driving with the paddles aggressively running in the upper RPM band for most of the time will result in shorter oil life. Its your car. Oil is cheap. Engine repair is not. Your oil life monitor is telling you wake up.
Ford app shows oil percetage also.

100%. The oil life monitor is more accurate than people realize. Doing an oil change once a year if you drive the car hard in not good advice. Listen to the car.

I will change it soon. I changed it a few months ago and have only done 1800 miles, so was just confused on if this was actually accurate. I drove my scat pack very hard, but never had the olm come on before 5k miles. I didn’t use the paddle shifters as much tho, I don’t like speeding too much so I enjoy low gears and downshifting. I’ll go ahead and order the stuff and change it next weekend.
