I changed the oil in my other V8 yesterday. I don't think these ramps will work with the Mustang tho 😂

nice work….save the original filter…..try a Motorcraft filter next time
This. Just put one on myself. I don't care if this makes me stubborn; Fram is for my wife's Hyundai Accent, Mustang gets Bosch, Purolator, or preferably Motorcraft.

Well done. I went for lifetime free oil changes but did manage to get my dealership to throw in 6 free changes. If nothing else I won’t have to consider doing it myself until at least 30k-40k miles.

Just an FYI, a lot of dealers use semi-synthetic (will never go in my car). There are no standards on how much synthetic is in there but it usually ranges from 10 to 30% I've read. I believe it too.

Absolutely! The two I have used out here for coyote 5.0 oil changes have both stuck with full synthetic. I definitely wouldn’t allow a blend to be used.

I just did my first oil change on 25 dark horse. The motorcraft filter 500s is much bigger then the black one that comes from the factory. Also after I added 9.5 quarts of oil it was on minimum mark. After putting in the remaining 1/2 quart, the oil is showing in the middle of minimum to maximum mark.

Get the oil hot, let it sit for 20 minutes and it will measure higher on the dip stick. Hot oil expands over cold oil.

The owners manual says to check it cold. Or let it sit so the oil can drain back to the pan.

Check the oil level before starting the engine, or switch the engine off after warm up and wait 15 minutes for the oil to drain into the oil pan.

Note: Checking the oil level too soon could result in an inaccurate reading.

20 minutes will let it drain back into the pan. Just check your oil. Did I say to just check your oil?

I have used a set of drive on ramps for decades, with no complaints or concerns. When I got ready for my first oil change on the Mustang, I drove up on the ramps, put down my floor pad, drain pan, grabbed my tools, and hit the floor. It only took me about 30 seconds to realize that: removing the undercarriage panel, getting to the drain plug and filter ... just moving around, using my ramps, was going to be a real PIA. So ..... I backed off and parked the car. I ordered a pair of Quick Jacks, they were delivered four days later. These hydraulic jacks are one of the best investments I've made in decades - they make crawling under my Mustang (and my Lexus and truck) spacious and comfortable. Additionally, they will make tire rotations (brake jobs, trans service, etc) much faster and easier. My hat is off to anyone doing routine Mustang service with drive on ramps.

I had the same experience and would love to get the QJ but while my driveway is smooth asphalt, it is not level and slopes down a little. Not much but I don't think the QJ would work.
