Here's another perspective from another 70 yr old car enthusiast. I've owned a number of performance cars over the decades (none as radical as your '55). My decision to buy a '26 Ecoboost convertable in Carbonized gray ... easy to look at, easy to drive, reliable .... how often will I be driving at either mine or the cars limits, do I need to get there first, (just not last), will my driving experience be diminished if I don't have this or that bolt on performance accessory, when I drive by, people will just see me in a convertable Mustang, I'm fine with that at this point in my life. Other than forum discussions, no one else will really care if I had a B&O stereo or a premium performance package. Reaching your twilight years ain't so bad afer all. Life is (can be) good!

I think my hot rod needs are a bit more, but I get your points. And BTW, The darker grey is in the running. With the right aftermarket wheels and tinted windows, and tweaking the stance, it would lean towards the stealthy and sinister look.

I like the idea. It allows me a lower entry price with the ability to upgrade IF the car seems to beg for it.

This setup allows for a lower ride height? Narrow the wheel well gap?

And what color is your ride? Pics?
Here he is. Magneride and lowered. Need

Here is mine, vapor blue and lowered. At some point I will replace the wheels (still have stock).

JML - sweet ride. Like the VB with the night pack. It's cool. I just tweaked the dark gray that leans towards a Project Sinister look. The wheels would be sold and swapped, though. A little window tinting as well.

Well said and I agree. The more that I think about it, his comment about "hating white" sparked me to think hard; for that I appreciated the comment. Coming from a super rich Med Garnet Red 56 Chevy to white GT may produce that buyer's remorse you speak of. I'm starting to lean on the old-school Grabber Blue, but still not certain. I need to look at some GB builds.
In case you haven't found them yet, there are threads on here for each color... lots of members posting pics of all of the colors. Search for "Official FULL COLOR NAME HERE Mustang S650 Thread"... just put the color you want in the capital letters.

Any regrets with the black roof that comes with the package?

Excellent. Will do! Adapting to the world of all things Ford. 60 years of Chevy blood is still bleeding out. LOL

No regrets from my side with the black roof, rather like it. Makes the car more interesting in my opinion, no maintenance issues.

Let me add just a little more "senior" perspective .... Mid may I will be driving to Chicago - Lake shore drive to pick up Rt. 66. Then off to Santa Monica. North up 101 to the bay area. East to Lake Tahoe, picking up US 50, continuing east back to S. Indiana (three or so weeks). Top down as weather permits, stone stock EcoBoost. I considered the GT with the same premium package(s), but, as I thought about how I intended to actually "use" the car, an EcoBoost filled the bill. Make the most of your retirememt years, no mulligans ........

I have a garage wall full of Chevrolet window stickers, Corvettes, Z06’s, convertibles, coupes, Camaro ZL1’s, 2SS 1LE’s, as well as pretty much every Mustang in the modern era, GT350, GT500, Mach1’s you name it - not including my falling into the Dodge pit, with Challenger Scat Packs, and Hellcats👍🫣 If I had back all the money I have bought for cars over the years I could prolly be Trumps neighbor 🤣🤣🤣

Don't get me started with a Challenger Hellcat. Never drove one, but
