I wouldn’t take my car to the dealer for that, sounds like a normal healthy coyote, could be the direct injection (they make audible on off clicks) , could be the D/I pump, lil bit of chain talk..

but again that sounds like a coyote warming up and getting ready to make 500HP for 200K miles or more.
I mean, that sound in particular is very clearly not normal. I've never heard another coyote making that sort of "Chirping clatter" while warming up. If it was just the ticking then it would be fine, but that additional sound, it sounds off.

Sounds exactly like all 3 of my coyotes.
It’s textbook “typewriter” or “bbq tick”

Definitely interested in what the dealer tells him.

Doesn’t sound like belt chirp to me. I’ve had my share of that.

sounds different then a valve guide tick also. Have they run a compression test?

almost sound like the idle is a bit rough and something is rubbing. Or an injector issue.

as Robvas said, it does sound like an idler pulley - or any pulley really. Should not be happening anywhere near this early.

glad you took it to the dealer. A new Mustang should not sound like that. Either they fix it or they buy it back.

26 days is unreal.

Mine does that. But it’s here and there and usually the sound goes away once it’s warmed up. I’ve had mine for over a year and a little over 8k miles. Haven’t had any issues with how it runs, etc.

If you find out what it is and is something that needs to be changed out let us know! That way I can take mine and see if they can do something about it.

Mine does sound like that a bit. I assumed it was a belt ever so slightly misaligned and then once warm goes away. It only last a minute like yours, so I prettty much forget about it by the time I pull out of the driveway.

I assume it is a belt but 26 days and already 2 new belts seem to prove me wrong.

I would lean towards it being the belt, or a pully, possibly a bearing being cold and warming up as the engine runs. My motorcycle (belt driven rear wheel) makes the same sound on acceleration on sub 40 degree Fahrenheit days until I ride a mile or three and everything warms up.

I have a similar sound usually once idle down occurs to around 900 RPM. Like the OP it's gone after 30-60 seconds. I haven't thought much about it being an issue otherwise. I have no BBQ tick and the engine is smooth and quiet otherwise. I'll be watching this thread. Let us know what you find out. I, too,.chalked it up to a pulley. It sounds like it's coming from the water pump to me. FWIW I did think I had the tick at first, but it goes away with idle down to 750 RPM.

Thanks for the update…. I don’t understand how buy backs work.

you are not happy with the car and want to sell it back to the dealer?
Who eats the depreciation? Ford?

Have they made any indication that the sound is causing damage, or is it just a sound with no root cause? Mine is associated with cold idle speed in that it goes away dropping from 900 to 750. Maybe something on the intake? I just can't believe that the sound would ever cause a problem, but of course I could be wrong.
