This is 20 hours in. Its mostly 3D rendered, but I photoshopped headlights and grilles and minor touchups.. From the windshield back, I used my 2015 Stang model, so don't go looking for side scoops or any other updates.

The gif is an overlay of the 3D model at the angle of the leaked pic that I decamo-ed and cleaned up. Things line up for the most part.

I don't have my Mustang wheel model anymore, so I had to go with what I have. I know it is practically sacrilege, but those are my 2020 Corvette wheels.

I hope y'all find this angle more appealing.
Man, you are a real 3d wizard. The car looks absolutely beatiful is that picture, the angle does it way better justice. Looks heavily influenced by Gen 5. Would it be ok for you if I photoshop one of these pics to a "heavily tuned" version?

I wonder why the 2-step in the horizontal middle. It's just needlessly 'busy'.
Why project 2 inches of 'shelf' into every surface? Lop them all off so they fit flush or within 1/4" of the grill and headlight faces.

All these renders are just minor changes from the 2015. The average person won't be able to even tell the difference between a 2015 and 2024. Really expected to see larger changes.

Compare the 2015 with the render.

Well, once more, based on what we've heard, it sounds like the rest of the design is more unique. It's just the front end that looks somewhat similar, which isn't a bad thing. It's not like the 6th gen Camaro which looked virtually identical to the 5th gen.

I think the car from a general appearance will have much more in common with Gen 5. More blocky, more retro pony car body lines instead of the smoothed out classy Coupe like Gen 6 was

Gen 6 also had similar frontend cues from 2013 model, but the overall appearance was drastically different

Excellent eye as always! Ford designed the 2013 model during early design development for the S550, which was finished by the summer of 2010 ('13 model). They started on the 2013 model at the same time as S550 in 2009.

They deliberately made it a precursor of where they intended to go in some respects for S550 and held the S550 program to echo those 2013 changes, as styling for S550 later progressed into fullsize mockups in 2011.

The 2013 model was definitely used to bridge the gap, kind of like how the 1967 Mustangs previewed the '69 cars.

I must admit this is the first rendering/photo that I think is the best. As someone previously said the changes look very minor compared to s550. I think this has a more conservative muscle car look to it now.
A bit like comparing the 2020 civc type r to the 2023 civic type r

But fast fwd 10 yrs I think the 2018-2022 models might appeal the most to me

But geez I reckon having both s 550 and 650 in your garage would make such a beautiful scene

The 2024 Mustang was co-developed with the 2015 and there were many attempts to get people expectations under control.

There is a chance that the S650 only last 3 model years. I think the plan is to release for MY24 based on sales performance, a refreshed 2026-‘27 may be worked in for until 2030.

I expect the REAL reason Ford can classify the S650 as its own Generation will lay solely on the platform changes. I am wondering if the S650 platform is scaleable, like GM’s Alpha was. I am eager to see if they have additional Wheelbase options for the GT350/500 making them shorter than the GT’s 107 and a true 2-seater coupe.
