😆 When I started my GT yesterday; I must have received the update, as the normal start up deeper tones were a horrid high pitched ding, ding, ding(at least it wasn't Chuck Berry's "My Dingaling") that surprised me so much I inadvertently used some unChristianly language that Mom would have slapped me for. 🤔 Fortunately the regular lower pitched sounds spontaneously returned on the next start up! 😎

Thanks, Ford!

It may also just come down to the (poor quality) batteries that ford is shipping with these cars... Put a quality battery in it, and all the issues may just go away...

Then it was there again when I started it last night.

Sometimes there, sometimes not.

🤔

Not sure I would have ever noticed if not for this thread.
I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned on this thread yet...

If you put the seatbelt on before hitting the start button, you will NOT hear the chime.

If you start the car before putting on the seatbelt, you WILL hear the chime.

However, I know in some countries the car will not even start without your seatbelt on.

Maybe this will help y'all track down when the error happens.

This is not about the seat belt warning. This thread is about the galloping horse / thump thump sound at startup.

The galloping horse / thump thump sounds happens on startup, IF you put on your seatbelt.

It does NOT happen if you have already put your seatbelt on before starting the car.

I know what this thread is about, and my comment was directly in relation to the sound happening (or not happening) depending on your procedure for starting the car.

It's not, I've tried different scenarios as you can read in previous post. It doesn't matter if the battery is fully charged, nor if the seatbelts are on. I've started my car after a week in the box and the galloping sound was there and after have driven for hundred KMs, it "magically" disappeared at a new restart after taking fuel (did the battery discharged after have driven the car, while it was charged while it was sitting in the box for a week?). There isn't a way to reproduce it, it's not linked to the battery status, nor the seatbelt, it's just appear and disappear randomly (not really randomly.. there must be a technical reason, but it's not something that you can anticipate or know about, it's a sort of "bug" in the software).

And just to avoid confusion: I rarely (probably never) put my seat belt on before starting the car, my starting procedure doesn't change, but some times I have the galloping sound, other times I hear this "beep beep".

OKAY, I think I may have figured it out..

If your car goes into battery save mode, it will not play the Hoof steps noise upon startup. It must shut down the systems it requires (stereo) in order to make the sound. Which makes sense to me. It will not return until the battery reaches a normal operating level.

Just another sign that that the batteries are not sufficiently sized for these high-tech cars. I hope it does not lead to future electrical failures, as BCM's and ECM's hate voltage irregularities. Then add people jump starting and boost charging to make it worse.

imo.
Yeah, I've stated this a few times. When the heartbeat gets replaced by a chime, you have a low battery condition.

It absolutely matters if the battery is fully charged. See my post above.

Must have missed that post.

I definitely think it is though. I do not think its the seatbelt. still not 100% sure.

This has come up one or two battery threads.

And no, It's not the seatbelt.

Did you read my post? It's impossible that my battery is "fully charged" while the car was sitting in the garage for a week, then got discharged (or not fully charged) soon after I've driven for hundred Kms, stopped to refuel and restarted. Does the battery get fully charged alone "randomly"? Coz the sound appear and disappear in every different condition apparently unlinked to the battery status.

We're talking about two different things. Reread my posts.

Maybe, but the purpose of this thread isn't about the galloping sound suddenly "disappear" for no apparent reason? (since the reason isn't the battery status, nor the seatbelts).
