It is! The clutch is stiff and the brakes arent nearly as responsive lol. But it's nice to go for a ride with no computers or electronics. The old girl drives surprisingly well.
Lol…My 06 GT felt prehistoric compared to this ‘25!

RE: Fuel…I remember panicking when they did away with leaded fuel! The lead was supposed to lubricate the valve seats. I had a 72 Camaro at the time and was worried about valve tap.

Will let you skip the gears only if they fall within the rpm limits, otherwise it'll blink, I don't remember if it'll leave you to the first available gear that falls in those limits (I think it does), and obviously is more permissive going upward than downscaling: if start in 1st gear, I can go up to 3rd gear (or maybe even 4th) skipping those ones in the middle (they won't engage at all); or if I'm driving in 10th gear, I can go down to the 7th gear by pressing the paddle 3 times rapidly.. and related to the "logic" mentioned above, I think you could press the downshift paddle like many times (exceeding the rpm limits) and it will sit you in the lowest gear available within the rpm limits.
Quoting myself as I had the opportunity to test few things today:

- Pressing the paddles rapidly will indeed skip the gears as we already know, however the "numbers" on the display will not, you will see them changing like 10>9>8>7 .. but the clutch doesn't engage, so you will end doing 10>7 practically;
- As mentioned, the gears are accepted only within the rpm limits, you can notice it more downshift (too high rpm) than the opposite (too low rpm) obviously. So in example if try to downshift like crazy, it will end in the first available gears with the highest rpm within the limits (this is not always desirable, you don't want to end at the end of the range, you want to have some "space" around the highest torque);
- It seems there's no obvious limit on how many gears you could "skip", however even by being fast (in example upshifting) I've managed to go from 3rd gear to 10th gear, but it engaged one gear in the middle (I believe 7th or 8th) before ending to the 10th, so it did something like 3rd>7th>10th, I couldn't manage to do 3>10. Same as downshifting, starting from 10th at very low rpm I tried to downshift to 4th skipping everything in the middle, I couldn't, it engaged some gear between, like 10th > 6th > 4th.

And that's the end of the story.

Npole…good stuff!

Actually just today was the first time I really concentrated on driving my A10 in Manual mode. 10 gears was not as tedious as I had feared, and yes, quick downshifts did exactly as you described. Downshifting while decelerating was really cool.

I had more fun than I expected, but did get nervous that I would forget I was in manual mode. So I made sure I didn’t get distracted by anything.

I still think my personal sweet spot is drive in Sport mode, and use the paddles on top of that. That way it’s a bit of a safety net, making up for not having a clutch in case I have to brake heavy for some reason.

I learned a lot about both transmissions after reading through everyone’s comments. Mustang drivers participate in Drag racing, road course racing, rallies in addition to daily driving. Some Mustang owners drive mountain passes and coastal roads. Thanks for all the comments from a very well informed group of Mustang owners.

I’ll drive the 10-speed for a 100 miles out to the coast north and swing back to the dealership. I’ll know if I want that car or not.

As you can see opinions vary and different driving styles are some of the biggest reasons why one or the other.
i had the 10r80 in my 2020 GT/CS with a tune and it was a beast for sure but I enjoy controlling my Mustang with a 6 speed and opted for the MT82 in my 24 GT. I paired with
a Steeda TriAx shifter and I love it.
personally I like the 3:55 gears better then the 3:73 for daily driving and auto crossing but that is a personal preference. Your PP will have 3:73 gears and will rip off the line for sure.

my 2 cents for whats it worth.
Agree I've had auto a lot during my life but the GT 6 speed is the most fun gear shift I've had ever ! I added a billet works 400 gram weighted half tear drop knob and it got even better. If your into quarter mile drags etc then the auto is for you, all else its the manual for old school me. Regards

If you didn't, do it in some serious twisties. That changes things. Mustangs are fun in some twisties but not others. A Miata we had was more fun on The Dragon in NC/TN. The Mustang's power is mostly useless/dangerous there. It's the most fun on a sport bike.

I had a '24 GT Convertible with the auto. Bored me to tears. I had to make believe I was shifting to try and have fun. I traded for a new '25 GT Convertible with the 6 speed and love every minute of it. I live in the mountains and love shifting gears and actually "Driving" the car!

Couldn’t agree more… I was soooo disappointed with myself for buying an auto Mach 1 for 3.5 years. Always dreaming of the control and engagement of a manual. Needless to say, I’m happy again

I've had manuals all my life and this automatic I ordered is exactly what I wanted which is fun. Paddle shifting is whatever I want it to be, when I want it, or just not shifting with them. The auto shifts lightening fast.

I don't want a computer rev matching for me or any of that kind of thing. I remember when clutch adjustment was loosening a nut, moving the linkage then tightening the nut again. That was manual shifting.

My 07 manual GT wouldn't compression brake due to the programming with the five speed and that's when Ford lost a manual owner for good. Not criticizing anyone that has a manual. LIke my signature says, "If you can't have fun, don't show up". They're both good so I recommend the OP get two cars with one of each...... :crackup:
